Guide Overview
This is going to be a guide about how the power sets work in 2023. The power sets have been receiving major overhauls since December 2015, so I hope this guide helps you understand the game in this year.
Energy Projector
1. Fire:-Damage Type: Elemental - Fire Damage
-Compatible Damage Resistance Debuff: Engulfing Flames
-Main Mechanics:
A. Burning Effects
1. Clinging Flames: This is core debuff of this hero, that will set foes on fire and deal damage over time every 1 second for 12 seconds.
2. Engulfing Flames: This is a debuff that reduces the enemies' resistance against our Fire damaging power by 8% for 15 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times and can be applied by some powers of this archetype.
3. Fiery Escalation: This is a buff granted by the powers Fire Strike and Nova Flare which increases the potency of said powers by 10%.
4. Leaping Flames: This is a smaller fire damage over time that will be applied to foes if one of their allies is affected by Clinging Flames.
5. Pyre Patches: These are areas burning with fire that deal damage over time to foes and enemies standing on them have a 10% chance to be affected by Clinging Flames.
6. Fire Snake: This a summon power that will spawn a fire serpent and persue our target as well apply the Engulfing Flames debuff to them.
B. Support:
1. Healing: This power set has powerful healing powers and advantages to restore the lost Health Points of our allies.
2. Crowd Control: This power set has many useful effects that can Paralyze, Stun or even Incapacitate enemies for a short time.
3. Resurrection: This power set has two powers to revive our hero and revive fallen allies.
-Energy Unlock: Thermal Reverberation, which is the native energy unlock of the Fire power set, grants energy for being close to enemies affected by the Clinging Flames debuff, and scales with the Endurance and Recovery stats.
-Recommended Stats: EGO, ENDURANCE and RECOVERY or PRESENCE, ENDURANCE, CONSTITUTION

2. Ice:
-Damage Type: Elemental - Cold Damage
-Compatible Damage Resistance Debuff: Hard Frost
-Main Mechanics:
Cold Effects
1. Chill: This is the signature debuff of the Ice powerset that will slow enemies and can even affect Super Villains and higher ranked targets like bosses.
2. Cold Snap: This is a buff granted by the powers Ice Form or Ice Sheath that will provide us with a passive cold resistance shield as well trigger secondary bonus effects on the powers Ice Blast, Shatter and Ice Barrier.
3. Ice Objects: These are structures made of Ice that can root enemies in place for a short duration, deal damage over time to foes and explode when expiring, and can be destroyed by the Shatter power.
4. Hard Frost: This is a Cold damage resistance debuff that lowers the enemy's resistance versus our attacks by 18% for 15 seconds.
-Energy Unlock: Icy Embrace, which is the native energy unlock of the Ice power set, grants energy for applying the Chill debuff to enemies, and scales with the Endurance and Recovery stats.
-Recommended Stats: DEXTERITY OR EGO, ENDURANCE and RECOVERY

3. Force:
-Damage Type: Physical - Crushing Damage
-Compatible Damage Resistance Debuff: Demolish
-Main Mechanics:
Shields, Knocks and Support
1. Power Shield: This is a new effect that places a shield that doesn't absorb damage points but striking a target affected by it restores 2.5% energy to our hero.
2. Containment Fields: This effect can be versatile in two ways, the first one place a damage absorption shield on our health bar that will absorb damage and restore energy to our hero, this effect scales with the Recovery stat, and the second is to trap an enemy inside a bubble which will be reinforced with a shield to make the hold effect harder to break by 50%, if this effect is used on Super Villains or higher ranked targets, a Power Shield effect will be applied instead.
3. Runes: Recently this power set was given two magic Runes that can shield allies or restore energy scaling with the Recovery stat.
4. Knock Effects: These effects are present on almost all powers of this power set and can send enemies flying (knock back), trip over themselves (knock down) or high up in the air (knock up).
5. Field Expulsions: Certain powers can take advantage of shields and can cause explosions of Crushing Damage in a small area when used on enemies or shield allies with the proper advantage.
6. Demolish: This is a debuff that lowers the target's Crushing damage resistance by 18% for 15 seconds.
-Energy Unlock: Impact Force, which is one of the two native energy unlocks of the Force power set, that grants energy by knocking enemies, and scales with the Endurance and Recovery stats; and the second one is Power Barrier which generates energy by directly shielding allies or causing Field Expulsions.
-Recommended Stats: EGO OR PRESENCE, ENDURANCE and RECOVERY

4. Electricity:
-Damage Type: Energy - Electrical Damage
-Compatible Damage Resistance Debuff: Superconductor
-Main Mechanics:
Shocking Effects
1. Negative Ions: This is a debuff that when applied to an enemy will leave them electrically conductive. Some powers can interact with this debuff procing Arcs or consume it to trigger secondary bonus effects.
2. Superconductor: This is a debuff that lowers the target's Electrical damage resistance by 18% for 15 seconds.
3. Arcs: This are random jumping bolts of electricity that can deal bonus damage to more than 5 enemies.
4. Circuits: This is effect is the in-game term for Negative Ions consumption by certain powers and advantages of this power set.
-Energy Unlock: Ionic Reverberation, which is the native energy unlock of the Electricity power set, that grants energy by consuming Negative Ions or when some powers interact with this debuff without consuming it however this energy return is lesser, and scales with the Endurance and Recovery stats.
-Recommended Stats: EGO, ENDURANCE and RECOVERY
-Archetypes: The Tempest
5. Wind:
-Damage Type: Hybrid - Cold Damage, Crushing Damage and Electrical Damage
-Compatible Damage Resistance Debuff: Doesn't have a native debuff but Hard Frost and Demolish are the ideal ones
-Main Mechanics:
Weather Effects, Repel and Disorient
1. Negative Ions: This is a debuff that when applied to an enemy will leave them electrically conductive. Some powers can interact with this debuff procing Arcs or consume it to trigger secondary bonus effects.
2. Chill: This is a debuff that lowers the target's movement speed.
3. Arcs: This are random jumping bolts of electricity that can deal bonus damage to more than 5 enemies.
4. Repel: This is effect is pushing the enemies with great force without knocking them.
5. Disorient: This is a debuff that lowers the target's damage by 15% and movement speed by 25% for 12 seconds. Some powers of this set can trigger secondary bonus effects on Disoriented targets.
-Energy Unlock: Wind Reverberation, which is the native energy unlock of the Wind power set, that grants energy by attempting to Repel foes, and scales with the Endurance and Recovery stats.
