Guide Overview
Hello guys and girls, today I bring you a new and updated guide for the Dragon Spirit Archetype. So what does this hero do? This hero is a martial artist who fights for the righteous using his body as a weapon performing deadly strikes of punches and kicks as well using Chi to deal more damage than most Martial Arts archetypes. This is one of the base twelve archetypes.
Main Mechanics:
1. Chi Energy:
A. Chi Flame: This is a debuff which deals Dimensional damage over time every 2 for 12 seconds and also reduces the foe's resistance against our Chi Power effects by 50%. It is available in many sources.
B. Lithe: This is a dodge buff that will increase our Dodge chance by 12%/15%/18% (based on rank) for 12 seconds. It is available on Thundering Kicks and Fair Game
C. Quick Maneuvering: This is a buff which will increase our chance to dodge by 5% per stack and stacks up to 10 times. All stacks are removed upon a successful Dodge. It is available on the Floating Lotus Blosson advantage of Thundering Kicks and Snap Shot.
D. Ebb and Flow: This is a buff which will cause all of our melee attacks after 10 seconds to apply Ebb and Flow increasing our Avoidance rating and stacks up 10 times. All stacks are removed upon a successful Dodge. (Crashing Wave Kicks, Subtly of the Tides Advantage)
E. Nimble Movements: This is a buff which will increase our Avoidance by 50%. It is available as on Dragon Kick.
F. Sudden Strike: This buff will increase the Critical Hit Severity of our next melee Critical Strike by 15%. It is present on Smoke Bomb Lunge and Throwing Blades.
G. Dragon Rush: This is a buff which operate based on the stack of Focus present on our hero by reducing the energy cost of our melee attacks by 15% and granting us an energy over time buff which scales with our Dexterity stat.
H. Bountiful Chi Resurgence: This is a self heal over time that will grant ticks of healing on our hero at the cost of reducing our damage strength by 10%
2. Chi Power: Most Dimensional damage effects in the Unarmed powerset are Chi Power effects. These deal bonus damage if Chi Flame is present.
A. Ghostly Strikes advantages and Spectral Dragon Tail: This advantage will split the damage of the attacks of the melee powers from the several powers in the Unarmed powerset into Crushing and Dimensional damage. The Dimensional damage of these abilities deal a little more damage than the Crushing portion of the powers.
B. Righteous Fury: This is an advantage of Burning Chi Fist that will detonate an explosion of Chi energy pulling foes within 20ft to our hero.
C. Fury of the Dragon: The Dimensional damage portion of this power is considered a Chi Power effect.
D. Devastating Strike: The Dimensional damage portion of this power is considered a Chi Power effect.

Power Explanation
Level 1 - Righteous Fists: This is our energy builder power that doesn't need to be ranked up in order to generate energy for us so I recommend leaving it at rank 1. The special advantage of this power is called Drunken Master which will grant us a buff called Aversion that increases our Dodge and Avoidance ratings when we score a Critical Hit with this ability. Aversion scales with our Dexterity stat.
Level 1 - One Hundred Hands: This power will deal damage to foes in front of our hero every 0.5 seconds and will have a 10% chance to apply the Chi Flame debuff on the targets. Fully maintaining this ability will raise the chance to apply said debuff on the primary target to 100%. The special advantages of this power are the following:
a. Demolishing Strikes: This advantage will cause One Hundred Hands to apply the Demolish debuff to the primary target if it is fully maintained. Demolish reduces the target's Crushing damage resistance by 18% for 15 seconds.
b. Flaming Fists: This advantage will replace the Chi Flame debuff for the Clinging Flames one. Clinging Flames deals Fire damage every 2 seconds for 12 seconds and is considered a Burning effect.
c. Ghostly Strikes: A portion of this damage is now dealt as Dimensional damage. This increases the damage slightly and counts as a Chi Power effect.
Level 6 - Thunderbolt Lunge OR Elbow Slam: This is the first choice between two powers for this archetype.
1. Thunderbolt Lunge: This is a movement power that will close quarters with our target dealing Crushing damage with a flying kick, Snare them reducing their movement speed and Root them in place so they can't escape. The special advantage of this power is called Essence Assault which will attempt to Stun the target if they are not affected by a Crowd Control effect like a Hold or Paralyze.
2. Elbow Slam: This power is a short distance lunge that must be fully charged to Paralyze the target for 12 seconds and deal a modest amount of Crushing damage. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Falling Hammer: This advantage will apply the Demolish debuff to the target on a full charge. Demolish reduces the target's Crushing damage resistance by 18% for 15 seconds.
b. Blunt Force: This advantage will apply the Disorient debuff to the target on a full charge. Disorient lowers the damage of the target by 10% and their movement speed by 15% for 12 seconds.
c. Flaming Chicken Wing: This advantage will apply the Chi Flame debuff to the target on a full charge.
Level 8 - Way of the Warrior OR Lightning Reflexes: This is the second choice between two powers for this archetype.
1. Way of the Warrior: This is one of the Slotted Passive powers from the shared Martial Arts powers, that will increase all our melee and Bleed damage by a large amount and all other damage by a lesser amount. Way of the Warrior will generate energy whenever an enemy dodges on of our attacks, this energy return scales with our Strength and Recovery stats, as well this power grants us a boost to our dodge chance.
2. Lightning Reflexes: This is one of the Slotted Passive powers from the shared Martial Arts powers, that will substantially increase our Dodge and Avoidance, as well when we take damage this power will grant the Escalating Reflexes buff which will increase slightly the chance to dodge an attack and when a successful Dodge is done, this bonus will reset. Also this power greatly increases our resistance to damage over time effects.
Level 11 - Inexorable Tides OR Dragon Kick: This is the third choice between two powers for this archetype.
1. Inexorable Tides: This power will deal damage to all foes in a circle around us and Knock the targets up (for a distance that scales with our Strength stat). This power has the following special advantages:
a. Instep Crush: This advantage will cause this power to Root the enemies in place for 12 seconds.
b. Flowing Strikes: This advantage will add 10 seconds to the duration of the Demolish debuff.
c. Power Sweep: This advantage will grant a 25% chance to apply the Chi Flame debuff.
2. Dragon Kick: This power will hit up to 5 foes dealing Crushing damage to them and if fully charged will Stun them for 2 seconds. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Lashing Dragon Tail: Which will increase our Avoidance by 50% via the Nimble Movements buff on a full charge.
b. Flaming Dragon Tail: Which will grant this power a 22% - 50% chance )based on charge time) to apply the Chi Flame debuff to all targets.
c. Spectral Dragon Tail: A portion of this damage is now dealt as Dimensional damage. This increases the damage slightly and counts as a Chi Power effect.
d. Dragon Rush: This advantage will grant us energy over time depending of the amount of stacks of Focus from our Form power and charge time, this energy return scales with our Dexterity stat. Additionally Dragon Rush will reduce the energy cost of all melee attacks by 15%. Costs 3 advantage points.
Level 14 - Form of the Master: This is our toggle form that will grant us stacks of Focs which increases the melee damage of our hero by a large amount and ranged damage for a lesser amount everytime we apply pr refresh a Chi Energy effect. We can gain a stack of this form once every 4 seconds, stacks up to 8 times and the damage bonus of this form scales with our Dexterity stat. Also increases our energy costs by 10%.
Level 17 - Burning Chi Fist: This power deals Crushing damage to a single target, refreshes the duration of the Chi Flame debuff, and applies it on a full charge. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Righteous Fury: Which instead of applying Chi Flame, on a full charge will detonate a blast of Chi Energy dealing Dimensional damage up to 5 targets and pull them towards our hero.
b. Shattering Strike: Which will increase the base damage of this power by 30% if the target is affected by Demolish.
c. Ghostly Strikes: A portion of this damage is now dealt as Dimensional damage. This increases the damage slightly and counts as a Chi Power effect.
Level 21 - Retaliation: This is our block replacer power that can be maintained to reduce incoming damage from foes' attacks. The feature of this power is that while blocking will apply or refresh the Retaliation buff increasing the damage of our next attack for a certain percentage based on rank. Retaliation will generate energy based on the damage taken and our Recovery stat. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Punitive Pummeling: Attacks made against our hero while blocking with this power have a 100% chance to reflect the incoming damage as a Knock Back. This effect can occur at most every 10 seconds and deals no damage.
b. Indomitable: This advantage will grant an additional 5% resitance to all damage, 5% resistance to hold effects and resistance to Knock effects. This amount increases the lower your health gets, up to a 120% maximum.
Level 25 - Chi Manipulation: This power is our energy unlock that will generate energy over time if we apply or refresh a Chi Energy effect. The energy return of this power scales with our Recovery and Endurance stats.
Level 30 - Open Palm Strike OR Shockwave: This is the fourth choice between two powers for this archetype.
1. Open Palm Strike: This power will deal Crushing damage to foes in front of our hero withing 25ft and a 4ft cylinder. When charged for more than 0.5 seconds this ability will Knock back foes (knock distance scales with our Strength stat) or suffer 20% more damage if the target is immune to knock effects like Super Villains or bosses. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Power Shift: Instead of Knocking back foes they are now knocked towards our hero on a full charge.
b. Force Collapse: Fully charging this power will apply the Devoid debuff to all targets. Devoid is a debuff that lowers the Dimensional resistance of the targets by 18% for 15 seconds and is considered a Curse effect.
c. Chi Flame: Fully charging this power now applies the Chi Flame debuff to all targets.
d. Ghostly Strikes: A portion of this damage is now dealt as Dimensional damage. This increases the damage slightly and counts as a Chi Power effect.
2. Shockwave: This is a ranged power that will deal damage to foes within 50ft. Foes within 25ft take Crushing damage, but foes beyond 25ft take Sonic damage instead. This power has the following advantages:
a. Power Shift: Each hit of this power has a 10% chance to knock targets to us and if it is fully maintained, all targets will be knocked towards our hero.
b. Reckless Endangerment: Each hit of this power has a 10% chance to apply a stack of Reckless to us. Stacks up to 3 times.
c. Wrecking Ball: If fully maintained, this power will apply the Demolish debuff to all targets.
Level 35 - Intensity OR Bountiful Chi Resurgence: This is the fifth and final choice between two powers for this archetype.
1. Intensity: This power is an Active Offense which will increase all the damage of our attacks as well grant us bonus Strength and Dexterity. Additionally this power will deal Break Free damage to any Holds, Roots or Disable affecting us and has a 15 seconds duration as well a recharge of 90 seconds. Places on cooldown other Active Offense powers if we happen to have more than one. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Fists of Righteous Flame: For the next 12 seconds, we have a 50% chance for every hit to apply the Chi Flame to the enemies. This chance can change based on the activation time of the attack. Chi Flame deals Dimensional damage over time every 2 seconds and will reduce the foes' resistance versus our Chi Power attacks.
b. Rage of the Beast: This advantage will deal bonus Break Free damage to any holds, roots or disables affecting our hero when this power is activated as well apply 5 stacks of the Charged Up buff. Charged Up increases our travel speeds for a short time.
b. Bountiful Chi Resurgence: This power is a self heal over time ability, considered a Chi Energy effect for interactions with the Unarmed Martial Arts powers, which will heal us once every 2 seconds for 16 seconds and lowers our damage by 10% while active. The special advantages of this power are the following:
a. Resurgent Reiki: This advantage will grant us more healing ticks everytime we dodge an attack while this power is active. This effect can happen once every 0.5 seconds.
b. Gifts of the Storm: Grants 20% of any non-minor or over-time heal to nearby allies while this power is active even if your health is full. This effect can occur once every 2 seconds. Costs 3 advantage points.
Level 40 - Fury of the Dragon: This power is an Ultimate power that deals Crushing and Dimensional damage to targets in front of our hero within a distance of 25ft and a 60 degree cone, and the Dimensional portion of this power is considered a Chi Power effect. Also this power will apply the Chi Flame debuff to all targets. The special advantage of this power is called Real Ultimate Power which will give this ability a 50% chance to apply stacks of the Bleed debuff to the targets. Bleed deals Slashing damage over time every second for 16 seconds and is considered a Wound Effect.
