Guide Overview
Hello guys and girls, today I bring you a new and updated guide for the Tenebrous Archetype. So what does this hero do? The Tenebrous uses the power of Darkness to fear their enemies, causing them to cower in its presence and this Fear of the enemies will be used to empower the healing side of the shadows of this archetype. This is one of the free base archetypes
Main Mechanics:
1. Fear: This is a debuff that can lower the damage of the enemies for 12 seconds. Some powers of this archetype benefit from this debuff. This is a Mental State.
2. Dependency: This is a debuff that can be applied to the enemies when Soul Vortex expires. Dependency is a debuff which causes the target to radiate healing pulses that will restore the health points to the closest ally near the foe affected by this ailment. Stacks up to 3 times and lasts for 20 seconds. This is a Mental State.
3. Despondency: This is the special advantage of Shadow Bolts which will lower the target's dodge chance up to a certain amount and gives all hits of Sahadow Bot a chance to apply Fear. This is a Mental State.
4. Paralyze: This is a Crowd Control effect that will render the enemy unable to perform any actions until this effect expire. Friendly targets/allies of our hero can break the hold by dealing damage to the held target.
5. Stun: This is a Crowd Control effect that will make the foes unable to perform any actions for a short period of time.
6. Lifedrain Effects/Healing: This hero has access to powerful heal powers to restore the lost health in the battle by siphoning the damage to convert it into heals and also has a revive power that will bring back to life fallen allies.

Power Explanation
Level 1 - Shadow Bolts: This is our energy builder power that doesn't need to be ranked up in order to generate energy for us so I recommend leaving it at rank 1. It will deal Dimensional damage to the target and the first hit is slightly more effective as well has a 20% chance to apply Fear to the target. The special advantage of this power is called Despondency and will cause all hits of this power have a chace to apply Fear to the target as well lower their dodge chance up to a certain percent. This advantage is a Mental State effect.
Level 1 - Shadow Blast: This is a power that can be charged to launch a focused bolt of shadow energy, and is tagged as a Blast for specialization tree purposes, which has a 25-100% chance to apply the Fear debuff to the target within 100ft. The special advantages of this power are the following:
a. Psychotic Break: Fully charging this power against a foe affected with Fear will Stun them for 2 seconds and apply a stack of the Bleed debuff. Bleed deals Slashing damage over time every second for 16 seconds and is considered a Wound Effect. This effect can happen once every 5 seconds.
b. Devoid: Fully charging this power applies the Devoid debuff. Devoid lowers the Dimensional damage resistance of the target by 18% for 15 seconds. This effect is a Curse.
c. Back to Darkness: Chargin this power for at least 50% will destroy any Shadow pets spawned by the Summon Shadows power within 25ft of our hero, healing them for each Shadow consumed. This is a Lifedrain Effect.
Level 6 - Shadow Embrace: This power will assault the foes with tendrils of dark energy every 0.5 seconds within 50ft and each hit has a 20% chance to apply the Fear debuff to the targets. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Dark Displacement: Each hit of Shadow Embrace now has a 20% chance to Knock down targets.
b. Fatal Allure: Targets affected by Fear have a 33% chance per hit to be Knock towards our hero.
c. Draining Shadows: Each hit of Shadow Embrace now heal our hero for a small amount. This is a Lifedrain Effect.
Level 8 - Harbinger: This is the Slotted Passive of our hero which will increase our damage and the healing we perform for a small amount (scaling with our Super Stats), absorb a small amount of damage (scaling with our Super Stats), when we use a Lifedrain Ability the healing and damage of that ability is increased by a small amount reflected by the Siphoning Aura buff which stacks up to 10 times, is applied every 0.5 seconds and lasts for 12 seconds. Gaining a new stack of this aura refreshes the duration of all existing stacks. This power also grants a large amount resistance against Dimensional typed attacks as well generates energy based on the amount of damage taken and the Recovery stat.
Level 11 - Lifedrain: This power will deal Dimensional damage to the target, restore health to our hero every 0.5 seconds and lasts for up to 4 seconds. This ability has a special advantage called Vampiric Sympathy which will cause the healing component of this power to heal allies around within 20ft of our hero. The heal is stronger for us and friendly targets receive 50% of this healing. When using Lifedrain with this advantage on a Feared target the healing performed is equal to both the hero and allies. This is a Lifedrain Effect.
Level 14 - Fear Consumption: This is our toggle form that will grant us stacks of Empathy which increases the healing and shield strength of our hero by a large amount and damage for a lesser amount everytime we directly apply a Mental State effect (Fear, Dependency or Despondency). We can gain a stack of this form once every 4 seconds, stacks up to 8 times and the damage bonus of this form scales with our Recovery stat. Also increases our energy costs by 10%.
Level 17 - Soul Vortex OR Ebon Rift: This is the first choice between two powers for this archetype.
1. Soul Vortex: This power will spawn a tornado of dark energy pulling in targets to it within 15ft and deals Dimensional damage to all targets every second for 12 seconds. When the Vortex expires it will leave behind a Healing Rune that will heal our hero and allies if we are standing on it every 2 seconds for 10 seconds. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Soul Drain: This advantage will apply the Dependency debuff upon expiration. Dependency is a Mental State effect.
b. Fear Machine: This advantage will grant Soul Vortex a 15% chance to apply the Fear debuff to the targets every hit.
2. Ebon Rift: This power will summon a Rift that will deal Dimensional damage to the foes close to it within 50ft in a 15ft sphere. This power has a scaling chance to apply the Fear debuff based on rank and has a 15 second recharge. The Rift will stay the double of the duration if this power is fully maintained. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Vengeful Shadows: Targets that are too close to the Rift will suffer massive Dimensional damage and will be knocked back (Knock distance scales with the Ego stat). If the target is immune to knock effects, they will take some additional damage instead.
b. Event Horizon: Each pulse of this power now has a 10% chance to apply Bane to the targets. Bane will apply one of the following debuffs to the targets randomly: Fear, Confuse, Stun, Disorient, Lethargic, Bleed, Deadly Poison, Clinging Flames, and Stagger. This is what is advertised in the tooltip but this advantage will apply more random debuffs.
c. Hellfire: This advantage will create a Pyre patch in the area, dealing Fire damage over time to foes standing on it and also has a 10% chance to apply the Clinging Flames debuff to the targets. Clinging Flames deals Fire damage over time once every 2 seconds for 12 seconds and is considered a Burning Effect alongside the Pyre Patch.
d. Endless Void: This advantage will cause this power to heal friendly targets if they are close the Rift when it is summoned. This is a Lifedrain Effect
Level 21 - Ebon Void: This is our block replacer power that can be maintained to reduce incoming damage from foes' attacks. The feature of this power is that it will deal a small amount of Dimensional damage to the targets and heal us for a small amount of health points, this healing is a Lifedrain Effect. Ebon Void will generate energy based on the damage taken and our Recovery stat. The special advantage of this power is called Voracious Darkness which will grant stacks of the buff named after the advantage and each stack increases damage resistance by 10% and stacks up to 5 times. Costs 3 advantage points.
Level 25 - Spirit Reverberation: This power is our energy unlock that will generate energy over time if we attack a foe affected by Fear with Dimensional damage. The energy return of this power scales with our Recovery and Endurance stats.
Level 30 - Grasping Shadows OR Summon Shadows: This is the second and final choice between two powers for this archetype.
1. Grasping Shadows: This is a Crowd Control power that will Paralyze up to 5 enemies within 50ft in a 15ft sphere and will apply the Fear debuff to all targets as well has a 15 second cooldown. This power has the following special advantages:
a. Unyielding Agony: Grasping Shadows now deal Dimensional damage over time, and this damage will not reduce the hold effect of this power.
b. Consumption: Grasping Shadows now heals our hero and nearby allies for every target hit. This heal is a Lifedrain Effect.
c. Void: This advantage will cause Grasping Shadows to apply Trauma to the targets. Trauma will end any heal over time the target is receiving and will additionally cause them to only receive 50% of any other heal they may receive.
2. Summon Shadows: This power will spawn 3 Shadow pets that attack the foes very quickly and has a 20 second recharge. This ability has a special advantage called Devouring Darkness which will cause the our Shadows to heal us for 25% of the damage they deal.
Level 35 - Resurgence: This power is an Active Defense which will increase our maximum health points, grant us a health regeneration buff and heal us for a percentage of our health. These benefit increase with ranks instead of the Presence stat. The special advantage of this power is called Unchained which will apply a large amount of Break Free damage to any holds or disable affecting our hero, a stack of hold resistance and a stack of knock resistance.
Level 40 - Dark Pact: This power will bring back to life a defeated hero within 25ft with a percentage of their life scaling with the rank of this power. The special advantage of this ability is called More Souls! which will increase the area of effect of this power to 50ft, revive up to 4 heroes that have been defeated and health is divided between targets.
