Really awesome guide:-) In my opinion, I'd recommend snow storm over frost breath. As a glacier, youve got loads of survivability, and the DoT element really takes advantage of that. If push comes to shove, u can just turtle up behind ice shield after casting the power, and watch critters collapse around u:-D One thing, though, I'm level 25 and I'm struggling to find an effective use for shatter. Does anyone know a tactic that uses it? Soz if I'm just being stupid. Shatter really becomes useful when you get Ice Barrier at 32. It helps with ice cage too. With ice barrier and shatter you do huge damage. I think you can put Nailed to the ground on shatter too..I didn't because I don't pvp much though.

Since you have Frost Breath, you can use it in conjunction with Shatter by chilling all of your enemies and then spamming Shatter until your energy is depleted. This will do some respectable damage and defeat most Henchmen/Villains if you have enough Energy and do good damage to anything above that. In addition you can do as Stratoshpere said and shatter Ice Structures for even more damage in an AoE.

My Glacier is only at 24 but I'm kinda disappointed by the class- shatter seems to be the crucial power in the set, yet I can't seem to do any decent damage with it without Cold Snap. I tried the combos many times- Shatter, Chill, Ice Cage, and all of the above. Chill + Shatter can barely destroy 1/4 of a henchman's health bar, and needs time and energy to set up; exploding ice cages also don't seem to add a lot of dmg. Frost Blast with Hard Frost is not bad, but after activating Ice Breath for the chill I can only tap it a few times before my energy runs out- and I geared towards REC. The lv 32 powers don't look very useful either- Ice Barrier may be good dmg but is useless in pvp and has a 90 sec cooldown; Ice Burst should work very well as a paralyze (assuming it's invulnerable to ice attack like ice cage) but may be crippled by the high energy cost and long cooldown. So, is this AT just invuln+avalanche+cool visuals or is there something more to it?

So, is this AT just invuln+avalanche+cool visuals or is there something more to it? I personally went for snow-storm over frost breath (fb), as i was going more for soloing PvE than anything else. For that, I've found that the glacier excels. The fb build is predominately for tanking, which makes it harder to solo with. one thing you could try would be to pick up the 'crushed ice' advantage on shatter: you'll find it could give you a hand as far as energy management is concerned. I would gear less for REC, and go for a more END centred build - you'll find that you can pick up enough energy to fill ur bar from blocking alone, so try going for that mid-fight if ur running low. Remember, the glacier is very good at surviving - fights might take you longer than most people, but my cool guy is level 35 now, and his death rate isn't above 60. Just keep it cool (sorry ) and spam the chills and you'll be fine in almost any fight. Use cold sheath as much as u can, as well. Hope this helped, and feel free to drop me a pm if u want more info. or give me a shout in-game at Coyote@L1quid

Hey Poochie, ArtMonster create a freeform build that I used for my Norse-ish, Cold using superhero, Tyro, Lord of Soderfjord. Have not seen him post in a while so I thought I'd try you? Chilly Willy - Defensive Build co-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=1840785&postcount=300I believe it was AM's take on a Glacier Arch. I am wondering if the Specializations you chose for The Glacier would work with AM's Chilly Willy - Defensive build. If not, what would you suggest for a more defensive Cold based FreeForm build. For example - I thought Rec was still preferred to keep energy high if you wish to keep pouring out Snow Storms (my fav Cold power).

I don't know if anyone has posted here in a while but my question is this... On the talent tree, what does Locus actually do. I was reviewing it and based on the gear that I see this guide go for with the dex to do crits. Would it not be more bemificial to get Adrenaline Rush (which says it gives you 1% of health back on crit attacks at level 1)..... But thats only because I don't know that locus actually does.

Taking Resilient instead of Adrenaline Rush was a pretty stupid mistake, I have remedied that. But you can't exchange Locus for Adrenaline Rush since they're in different trees.

You should update the guide =) (haha way ahead of me)...
What does Locus actually do?
The reason I ask is because I was reading Retribution (which I can see some health benifit if the values were higher), Tenacios (maybe not because its just damage increase) and Make it count (for the crit benifit)

I would probably go CON/End/Rec for superstats, and get some DEX from Talents and Crit Chance from Gear. CON/Protector/Guardian is probably the best tanking spec tree combination, and in that case I would use the same as the one I have in this Guide. You could also go CON/Protector/Sentry if you want EVEN MOAR survivability, but I'm not sure this is necessary (I have just such a build on my Pushover Build.

Instead of just jumping in, I think for this one I'll create a mock up using AM's build, add in your suggestions and post them to see what you and other folks think before I make all of the changes. Thanks again. ;D
