I have seen pictures of guitars, they are the round things you beat with sticks right?

Uh oh! Personal info incoming! Heh, I appreciate the motivation, but I simply don't have the time between full time work, night classes and martial arts, the little free time I do have is for sleeping, homework, girlfriend and CO. Once I finish school I'll be in a better position for some me time, but believe me, it's on my to do list.

Hehehe, I tried to learn how to play bass guitar a long time ago but never got around to it. The only muscial instrument I have managed to learn how to play well enough to be able to make the claim I know how play it is the Berimbau, and I learned that because of Capoeira.
EDIT: Ohh, and I just realized I hadn't welcomed speedknob yet. Heya! ;D

I'm really looking forward to moving again next week and, for a while, living just one street away from the Muay Thai school Might even get off my lazy butt then and start again

I must say I feel really good running into a community of not only fellow gamers who like the same game but also fellow martial artists. No wonder I feel so at home.

Of course Mr. KenpoJujitsu is the only one not telling anyone what martial arts he does. Oi, why are you all looking at me like that???

Since ya mentioned it: Tae Kwon Do ('86-'98) - 3rd Dan Five Animal Kung-Fu ('86-'98) - Black Sash Ju Jitsu (86'-Present) - 2nd Dan American Kenpo Karate ('98-Present) - 4th 'Dan' (Kenpo doesn't technically use Dan grades but I'm used to using the term) And I've studied a bunch of other stuff off the record and claim no rank in them.

Heh, you are actually good at this I started Judo at school but was terrible. Good defence a couple of belts above the rest of my performance, but no offence at all. Took a while to figure it out: I am terrified of falling, so I'd fight like hell not to let anyone throw me Then at uni I tried Muay Thai for no reason whatsoever and LOVED it. I am not very good at it. I lack the aggression. I like the people I train with, I don't want to punch 'em... but being doing it on and off for a decade now, so while I'll never compete, I can take a beating and dish at least a bit back out and most importantly I am having fun.

I've studied a hodge-podge of about 6 different arts for unarmed combat. I never attained a black belt but I could probably hold my own in the ring with one (At the very least I wouldn't embarrass myself too badly).
As far as armed combat goes, I love the light steel (fencing). I studied fencing in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) which is NOT Olympic style fencing. We practice it more for its actual combat usage than a sport.

Oooooh fencing!!!
By the way, I had made a bet with myself that the first person to post after me in this thread now would be Galeforce. Why can't I win bets when they are with other people and about money?
Do you train with blunt blades? Are you covered with bruises all over?

I used to be an active competitor in weapons kata competitions but I haven't done that in years. Kind of miss competition at times but life gets in the way.

My weapons training is in Arnis. We trained with sticks, but the basic premise is to be able to take whatever weapon is being used against you and applying it to your own defense.
Reminiscing, I can almost smell the burning wood smell of training with the sticks, hear the clackclackclack, and my knuckles are swelling already.
