It seems that Cryptic hasn't changed at all given that CO is the only other game of theirs that I played. These exploits and bugs will remain for a long time I'm sure.

Yeah, I might give NW another try. I might play for only 20 minutes, but I'll try. I meant to respond to Minerva's point earlier, because I think it strikes a chord. Yes, I think my problem is that it's a Hybrid. However, it's not because it's Action/RPG. It's because it's a Hybrid without its own angle. It tried to be mainstream but ended up generic. Let's take CO/DCUO for example. CO is an action/RPG, but with an incredible character creator in terms of powers and design. DCUO is an action/RPG, but it is like living in Batman: the Animated Series for me. Now, that's just me, but it has that angle, that hook, that draws me personally back. NW did have a Forgotten Realms angle, but maybe it's just not strong enough. This is actually how I felt about the game, I might have to re-install it and go deeper in it to be able to judge the game properly but so far for the little I have seen of it I'm pretty much right there with you on this statement. I deleted it but not because I was angry but because I installed Perfect World, a game that looks and feels like World of Warcraft with the right art direction. I can't say I'm sold over to PW but since it actually made me install "Arc" I have to delete Neverwinter (and CO for that matter) because all Arc games that were installed before installing Arc won't work, that means a lot of re-downloading which feels like a kick in the nuts, and to a player that was not all that charmed with these games to begin with, I was playing a Cleric since I figured they'll made the stupid mistake of making the game "holy trinity" which means the ones with all the glory and desirability are the healers/buffers. Had to say the only thing D&D in this game is the name of things, other than that it's really NOT D&D at all, this won't matter much to non-D&D players, but it could piss off the D&D crowd.

None of the 3 Cryptic games needs installation if you have a copy of the files. I have reinstalled windows 3 or 4 times since I started playing CO and I never redownloaded it, I do not even have a launcher for NWO, I use CO's launcher.

It's how I do it with Guildwars but I'm not sure that method would work with Arc, because Arc wants to download and install the game itself, I'm not sure what the tech differences are between doing yourself and letting Arc doing it, but I do know none of the games I dled before installing Arc worked with Arc after I installed it, so I had to re-download them all through Arc. I just finished dling Neverwinter this morning, left it dling overnight. Anyone playing this morning?

Weird. I'm using Arc right now for STO and I didn't have to reinstall the game. I just installed Arc and loaded it up no problem. Do you have your games installed in a custom location? I have mine in the default location. I'm wondering if maybe that has something to do with it.

I wouldn't be able to know if it was something I did, to my knowledge the games were in their default locations since I never mess with that stuff, the two games are now running so whatever it was is not an issue anymore, it did leave me with the question though, what in the world was it that caused it. There was also a CO update and I think there was 1 with Neverwinter while I was installing Arc, that I remember, I wonder if that update was the culprit, did anyone had any issues with the update?

Hmm, I haven't had any issues with updates and the like so I have no idea either. Maybe some random glitch. Anyway it's good that it's all working for you now though. Arc is rather nifty now that I've been using it for a while.

Can't say that I like it, I just don't know why I have to keep a program running in the background consuming ram and processing power while I play my game. I know Arc allows you to install your PW games easier, but I have no trouble at all grabbing those games from their respective websites, since you only do that once, the Arc program thingy happens EVERY time you play them which could annoy the crap out of me.

Yeah I can understand that. A whole bunch of people on the STO forums hate it. A good deal of the F2P games I've played had things like this. Aeria has their Fire launcher and even Sony has their Launchpad. I guess I'm just used to all-in-one launchers like this lol.
