Since I'm not a big fan of flashy costumes while actually playing, I just got 3 simple ones:) (flashy annoys me ;x) Original pvp outfit. First angel design, annoyed me while playing so switched 2 still using it:) Sorry for images bein big, I'm bad at it:)[

Slight derail: If the Diciple AT is released next week I want you to know that the TK review is not finished, and the Archetype will most certainly seem... underwhelming at first.

A while ago a CO friend sent me a "challenge". Basically he wanted me to try and remake this fan version of Ms Marvel in CO. At the time we didn't have the Arabian set, so I used the sash. Now this is version obviously includes the appropriate costume part. Works best with oil skin from Mil tights (IMO)

Nice I like her best as Binary actually .. but I love flaming red heads Electric Entourage is ... bright ;o) I went for a Neon Sign look, but wanted it to be "girly" so took the new born boy/girl/neutral color sets looked for thematic pieces that could glow. I eventually took the pink and went a bit towards the purple side. I just looked better as a contrast to the blue and yellow. I made Interdictors Infiltrator outfit last night. Just your basic Spec Ops gear with a couple show offy bits, in a subtle way. It cracks me up, my original post shows the new outfit. I didn't know it updated in real time haha.

So I've been messing with a concept for a new power armor type character for a while now, but something just seems missing and wanted to see if I could get some input on it. Since I'm Silver and don't have access to the Power Armor tree, I made him a Glacier as sort of a Cryo power armor suit deal (hence the light blue glow on the chest piece). I ran him through the tutorial just to get a feel for it and noticed a few things. It seems that I can't change the material on the face protector to metal, so it looks a bit off depending on the lighting. Also the black metal looks more gray depending on the lighting as well. Both of those kind of throw off the look a bit, but I'm not sure what I can do about that. I was also considering adding in a touch of purple for a bit more accent, but I'm wondering if that might make the color scheme too busy. Any thoughts on this?

Ah, there we go I can see him now. These are just my opinions and I am in no way saying what you have is wrong Beauty is, after all, in the eye of the beholder. I rather like the look of your chest. With Black and Orange ( I like the combo, always have ) it's easy to get too much of it. The arm canisters get lost because they blend too well. What my eye tends to do is focus on the chest and sort of see everything else as black and orange. Maybe try the vials and use the glow effect they have to mirror the glow of the chest and mouth piece? They also hide an interesting feature on the upper arm with that line carrying from the shoulder all the way to the glove. Maybe leave it out all together? Arm and leg accessories in general are tough to pull off because you tend to have to "shoe horn" a basic idea into your concept. With a power armor theme the basic idea ( from the perspective of books at any rate ) is that they are self contained. You wouldn't think it would have too many accessories being in awkward places. Just imagine a working suit and try to think of what that character might need. What purpose would the arm canisters serve in your actual build? If they don't it's easy to leave em out. Sometimes, less is more. Overall I give it a thumbs up

Cool, thanks. I like the idea of the vials instead of the arm canisters. I think I could make the vials a soft purple that I've been considering adding in, or mirror the chest/mouth piece like you said. I'll have to mess around with him a bit more and see how he looks after that.

Don't forget to share the Costume Files when you post your fabulous creations to the Costume Exchange. If you do not know where the sharing files that I am talking about, are located on your computer, you can begin by looking under the folder where your CO game is. On a PC they can be found under two possible places depending on the operating system. C Drive > Program Files > Cryptic Studios > Champions Online > Live > Screenshots C Drive > Users > Public > Games > Cryptic Studios > Champions Online > Live > Screenshots The files stored there are of two types: Costume_accountname_etc and screenshot_dateandtimeofscreencap. The one you want to post here are the Costume files you wish to share. Screenshots are nice to show off your hero in action, but we cannot use them as easily to create the costume being shown to us. Sorry but I cannot help you if you are using a Mac device for precise location of the CO folder but I know it stores games in a similar way. If all else fails try running a Search for Folders called Cryptic Studios or Champions Online. Hope that helps.

I was also considering adding in a touch of purple for a bit more accent, but I'm wondering if that might make the color scheme too busy. Any thoughts on this? @metal Finish: The amount of reflection that metal textures get can really wash out the color in certain enviroments; especially black. Leather/cloth can reduce the shine to get a more matte finish; think stealth bomber. It is less "metal shiny" looking, but bolder in pure color. It is a bit of a trade off, but it might help match the face protector better. @purple: I agree that adding purple might make the color scheme too busy. Consider using different shades/glow levels of the existing Blue/Orange in your costume as accents instead and see how that turns out. I have a link for an awesome color wheel tool. I will try to remember to post it later when I get home.
