Hey guys I've been playing about three months and having a blast. But I only have one complaint, why no power color customization. I completely understand cryptic's reason to reserve that option for gold members, but at the very least i think us F2P people should at least have access to a C-store item that allows us to do so. I just want hear you guys thoughts on this topic.

My understanding is they want to have some things that are exclusive to the subscription plan, as an incentive to subscribe. If you could purchase everything individually in the C-store, why would anyone subscribe?

Yeah I understand that but there could be a way where they could place a limitation on it at the very least

There have been a number of suggestions since the F2P beta on this, but so far none have been to the marketing guys' liking. The one most players seemed to accept as a compromise was a sort of power hue retcon token, that would allow one single change.

If you could purchase everything individually in the C-store, why would anyone subscribe? Which, from what I can tell, is almost everything. You can't really do much in this game without either subscribing, buying tokens, or both - "free to play" is more like "pay or else".

With only a few exceptions, you can purchase most of the perks that come from actually subscribing individually if you want. However, as I was mentioning in the post you quoted, I believe they want to keep some things exclusive to the actual subscription itself.

I guess it's just frustrating how little there is that doesn't require payment, when one is like me, and has no way to pay.

But in reality, there are far more things that are free than require payment. I mean, you can play every mission in the game except the Adventure Packs for free. That is no insignificant amount of content. Is there a specific problem that prevents you from being able to purchase points though? I havent been following every post of this thread so I'm sorry if you've already explained that. I'm just asking is it related to online payments or where you live or something?

I havent been following every post of this thread so I'm sorry if you've already explained that. I'm just asking is it related to online payments or where you live or something? Yeah. due to a couple medical conditions, I cannot drive and find most physical work difficult (I currently live with my parents, and am near 30, sad to admit) so employment for me has been sporadic at best. I'm in the middle of applying for SSI/Disability income, but right now have no money whatsoever, let alone a credit-card or bank account to link to PayPal, and I dunno if/when my application will go through, or how much I'll get. Couple that with having a very outdated computer (given as a gift and over six years old, with a video card no longer supported by its manufacturer and a motherboard likewise by its to be considered "legacy hardware" - upgrading all the stuff needed would be almost more expensive than the roughly $860 needed for simply buying a newer more-up-to-date machine even if I ignore the monitor and keyboard/mouse) and you can see I have quite a lot of stuff I end up missing out on in this game. Granted, I still love the game, mind you, but seeing so much requiring stuff I don't have, whether it be visuals (with my poor graphics requiring Low settings to keep temps down, a lot of things, like the Qularr pods and consoles in the tutorial, and mailboxes/streetlamps/tires elsewhere, don't display as anything but invisibles with glowing interaction spots) or other cool stuff (costumes and archetypes for example - I'd love to play as a Savage, or give my stony Behemoth the Geo Armor look) is just kinda disheartening, since for the time being, I can't enjoy them. Frankly, if I woke up tomorrow with all the cash I needed to do so, I'd buy a new machine and get a lifetime subscription faster than the proverbial heartbeat, but right now... I can barely manage what little I can play. Heck, I can't even play a couple of the Archetypes, like Mind and Grimoire, because their spells and such are so flashy that my framerate nosedives. At least Behemoth is striaghtforward enough that I can manage somewhat, and most of the Inferno powers are small enough on FX to keep things even. Sorry for the long rambling offtopic rant - I hope I didn't come off as childish or whiny or anything like that.

Nah, no technical difficulties, just a whole bunch of other crap that would probably get me a whole lot more depressed and upset than it does now if I really stopped to think about it long enough. Pity you can't (as far as I know) "gift" tokens to other players, like how Steam does for whole games and stuff - I got a copy of TF2 that way. Might encourage folks to buy more, if they could give their friends stuff. "You want that costume? No problem, bro. I've got a few tokens I can spare, have a blast."

That would actually be a splendid idea if that was implemented! In one direction it would open up a whole new in-game market, and in another the possibilities for gifts, rewards ect. would be astounding.

If you purchase tokens from the website as opposed to through your Steam Wallet, not only can you purchase virtual gift cards (that get sent to the e-mail address with a code), but you can also purchase tokens in amounts other than that's offered in game. I haven't tried it, but I saw the option.

I think this would be a nice idea, though they could just offer the most basic colors of the rainbow.
Then to make the gold power coloring abilities even more exciting they could finally add the ability to have true different shades of the colors so that you could go both lighter and darker.
That would be a great way in my opinion though I'm sure it won't ever be done the thought is nice.
