The full question should be: What Arche(s) are you playing and how do you like it/them so far? I plan to test each Arch one at a time through the tutorial and perhaps even as far as 10th or even 15th lvl just to see if I like this or that one better than another type. It's sort of how I spent most of December. I know. I converted a spell caster to Grimoire. She disappeared from the desert and reappeared in the city on a totally different mission. Webspeller is supposed to be tracking down some street thugs I think, but decided to try and learn to craft better instead for the moment. so obviously, I won't be starting a fresh magic PC at this time, but I think I'll give The Behemoth (AKA Might) another try. I also need to practice Blocking. I stink at Blocking. I've got the perfect toon waiting to be loaded. ;D After that I think I'll try the Ice Arche.

Enfield is a Specialist. Currently she is waving like mad from the top of a shot down Qularr space ship. She is trying to help coordinate the defense of Millenium City, aiding confused heroes. As far as the downed space ship goes, who knows how it was brought down. If Enfield knows or was involved, she is not saying.

The Behemoth is a fun one! I played one to 22 on Beta and it was a blast. Kinda slow compared to some of the others but you could drive that damned thing drunk and half asleep without worrying about wrecking it. Fun! Oddly enough, the one thing I had trouble with was holding Argro in the final boss fight in the Demonflame AP. Other then that oddity, it was such a fun ride I decided to try it again.
The grimoire is a good one too. A bit slower then someone like the Savage, but great if you like setting back and planning your attacks before launching into foes.
Oh, and you got switched from the desert to MC because the Desert's level got boosted. It's base content is now in the early teens somewhere... I can't remember exactly where though.

I´m Playing a Grimoire too and it is fun so far, but i´m not sure how to spend my Advantage Points. The thing is, that the sigil´s seem to be my strongest weapon, but there can only be one Sigil active at a time. Execpt of course u invest Points into Mystic transference and i don´t know if this is a good idea. Maybe some Vet can give me a hint ?

Sigils of the Primal storm are definitely going to be your strongest attack, next to perhaps Sigils of Arcane Runes. Those two sets of sigils are really just particularly powerful. Primal Storm will generally do better over a period, while Arcane Runes create a devastating mine field that do more damage up front. If you plan to party as a support player, Sigils of Ebon Weakness greatly weaken foes.
Eldrich Blast, at a full charge, Rank 3, is actually reasonably potent. Of course, you can use it while your Sigils are going, which I'm sure you've figured out is a pretty aggressive means of dealing damage. :]
Pillar of Poz is to be used when you want to get things off of you quickly, but it is otherwise rather low in damage. I suppose that if you had some enemies cornered (so they couldn't be knocked out of range) you could spam it for damage, and the knock would still stop their attacks for a few seconds.
Hex of Suffering is, itself, kind of weak. But it's fire-and-forget, so that you throw it on a hard target, and let it eat away at their health while your Sigils blast it and you go to town with Eldrich.
The Grimoire is a hybrid support-offense archetype, so it really doesn't excel in damage or healing, but provides a reasonable amount of both. You can be throwing out heals and damage at the same time, or again, make use of Ebon Sigils to cripple your foes. It's a very party-friendly archetype, and you'll likely find it to be appreciated by other players when you start getting to lairs.

The original incarnation of the Honor Guard character I played was straight Electricity with a bit of Gadgeteer thrown in for effect (sonic device). When I noticed that electricity wasn't selectable on a Silver account I decided to remake him as a fire type.
Played through Westside up to the point that I have to take out Kevin Poe. After the tenth wipe I realized that the Inferno archetype plays almost exactly like the Blasters of CoX.
Gonna try a Grimoire later on.
Is there a list of exactly which of the old powersets aren't available to Silver accounts? I noticed a distinct lack of Power Armor, Celestial and of course Electricity.

Indeed. The Inferno is in a rough place at that level. The fact that they insisted on giving it the Firestrike T0 hurts it a lot by having a weak power use up a very valuable early power slot. It's another late-bloomer (which a lot of the ATs are).
There's a list of Archetypes up on the wiki. Poz stated they're shooting for a goal of +2 ATs per month, so you'll likely see the tech and elec voids filled soon.

Im playing around with the Savage, as well as the Marksman.
Im also messing around with an unarmed martial artist designed along the lines of an AT. Of course he is a freeform now, but I would love to see an unarmed AT and hope to be able to provide good feedback based on this test when the devs get around to releasing, "The Monk," or something similar, as an AT.

Bugs kept going crazy trying figure out how to climb up and get to little miss Hot 'n Foxy. { zhew-zhew-zhew } Die stupid bugs! Much fun. And if I even spotted Ennie taking aim at that Bugship, I wouldn't tell either. I AM SPARTACUS! :: whispers :: { we Spartaci have to stick together } uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Spartacus

I'm kinda thinking about trying out the Marksman or the Soldier types. Mostly since I dont wanna jump into the fray and be beaten to a pulp!....yet. But probably change afew things. I can kinda see my guy be something of a Gear-head. Maybe the kind of guy you'd see with his nose in a computer manual all while he's blindly working on some contraption that may or may not backfire. Besides, 50% chance of success is better then none!

Hi, I just started playing the game for the first time and I chose the Fire Archetype. So far I'm having fun with it but was wondering wich stats should I focus on and what skills I should rank up. So far I've been leveling fireball since it seems to do the most damage, and I've been getting items with Endurance and Recovery. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I got this one item for my science slot and it appears to have an activateable ability, but nothing happens when I press the button, are there any requirements?

I've converted two of my old characters to Silver. One was a telepathic concept (Psyren) who ported well to the Mind Archetype, the other a brick/tank type (Speedbump) which corresponded closely with the Behemoth Archetype. Psyren is 25. I have mostly been playing catchup with new lower level mission content, facing enemies of level 15-ish. That's hardly a fair test of strength of course, but she did okay in the Battle Simulator. Also, she's got a nemesis, and was able to weather an ambush with no problems. The combination of Ego Sleep and Ego Sprites, along with Aura of Radiant Protection and a healing power, seems to be pretty formidable. Speedbump was 15, now 16. He did not fare well in the Battle Simulator, and when I took him out into the Desert Crisis (fighting level 15 opponents), he got his butt kicked pretty hard at first. With a little more play time, I think I got things figured out. The Behemoth is a surprisingly vulnerable build, at first. Even with tremendous hit points, you don't get much damage reduction and no self-heals, so those hit points deplete scarily fast. The key is to build your Defiant! stacks up as fast as you can, then (for me, anyway) make use of Roomsweeper and Mighty Leap. This helps mitigate incoming damage through knock-back based crowd control and builds up Rage stacks for increased damage output. It is a very kinetic fighting style, though, and the Behemoth is prone to running low on energy. I also made a second account so I could get two more characters for free, and I'm trying out an Inferno and a Soldier.

Poochyha, you'll want to focus on Recovery and Endurance up until about level 22. At 22, you can start adding some Presence to your character, because that will give you more energy return from Thermal Reverb (pretty sure that didn't change with the patch).
Fireball is very powerful now (it got buffed). I recomment taking it to Rank 2, and then getting Unstable Accelerant. Unstable Accelerant significantly increases the damage a lot of your other fire powers do.

I've tried several things up to level 8, just trying to get familiar with the game and see what I like the look of. I thought the Inferno archtype was insanely fun, just way squishy at first. Fireball is amazing, makes me want to cackle like an idiot. I liked the Soldier archtype a little better in the early levels because he felt somewhat tougher. Not sure why. I enjoyed having a decent cone AoE, and the passive was fun to see in action. The Grimoire was/is fun, though I'm going to go back to the drawing board on my costume. Probably going to continue playing it once I'm done checking out the others. Not as squishy feeling as the Avenger types. The sigils are fun. Right now I'm using my 30 days of Gold Access* to check out The Savage and The Specialist. I played The Savage last night, was fairly fun -- then I hit level 8 and got the Regeneration passive. WOW. He's virtually invincible now. I feel like a god running missions; if something hits him hard, he regenerates a bigger burst of health than normal. It's amazing for a beginner. I'm going to give The Specialist a try tonight. I want to decide which ones I absolutely adore the most so I can buy them for Silver. *Gold Access: $6 for 30 days of gold, champions-online.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=18
