Haven't gotten to the S2 eps yet. Just finished up the main storyline (holy crap it was awesome) and am now working on the S1 eps.
Agree that the S1 eps were forced cameos. Coming off the main storyline, these were a huge step down in quality. One of them was seriously just driving to a random location, shoot 3 bad guys, loot data recorder, end of mission. They broke that mission up into like 4 parts, so I had to repeat that 4 times. Blergh.
Good to hear that the S2 eps are better. I'll plow through the rest of S1 then.

New missions are good and all but the change to the Lawman Jon Coopers voice actor is lame. He used to actually sound black, now he sounds like southern white trash.

Decided to try my hand at some sniping challenges. Rather pleased with the outcome. The previous first place was just over 25k. I may have overdone it a bit. i r gud snipar Edit: I'm dumb. Previous first place went down to second place. Dunno why I thought the previous one was 25k.

You know, I had thought that the devs at Cryptic were often out of touch with their games. Boy how wrong I was. Here's the new Warmaster changes according to the Defiance Creative Lead: forums.defiance.com/showthread.php?166821-Warmaster-Event-Changes-in-Defiance-2.1TLDR: Rather than properly fixing the WM encounter, he's just going to cater to the lock breakers while dissing us lock keepers who actually want to win. Some hardcore out of touch shtako there man.

I just read the post. The guy makes some good points, some customer segmentation analysis, but I disagree with him. What I disagree with isn't just about how out of touch he is with the game, but with humanity. He's very cynical.
He basically separated players into 2 groups: casual and hardcore. But he forgot they're willing to work together. Casual players want advice from hardcore players. Hardcore players want more people (and their guns) in that Alert.
Result - so the Devs have this underlying assumption of players being purely individual entities, in it for casual fun or hardcore loot, separately. But the reality is they're a Team, everyone wants to succeed together.
Having played that Warmaster Alert, I know it's an all-hands on deck situation. Players actually do a good job organising themselves while waiting for others to join. This "fix" kinda ruins the experience.
It's so weird, because Defiance is so naturally team-oriented. Players actually work together without being forced into it.

What I can't understand is why he won't add in proper measures for a team to fight WM.
From what I hear, it's impossible to organize a proper raid team due to the game not having a proper raid team UI. So the teams can get placed into separate phases. Add that to the fact that once you drop that Ark Spike, that WM is freely open to the public. That's a cool feature that I like, but at the same time it allows the people who really don't care about winning to just come in and pop the locks. So it ends up this weird mash of people who want to win and those who don't care.
I don't know, it just seems to me that rather than addressing these underlying issues with the WM encounter, he's just taking the easy way out while putting the blame on us lock keepers. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I do agree though, it's going to ruin the experience.
Edit: I do agree with his comment on the abusing language. That's never acceptable. I never yelled at anyone over it. Facepalmed, maybe. Yelled, no way.

Looks like Scapes and Kiwi posted some follow ups:
Looks like it got bad enough to get the both of them to respond.
Anyway, good news is that they have plans for invite only WM runs. The bad news is that they went ahead with the WM change. Haven't played it yet, will get to it later and see how it goes. I don't have high hopes for it though.
