Btw, just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation of STO, then the advice.
I got some sweet swag, but better than that, I learned a lot from this game.
IMHO, STO's strength is simple: it knows what it wants to do, then does it well.
And what it does is make you a Starship Captain...and it's not just a title.
I also think the Star Trek license lends itself well for a RPG.
I.e. Fly around, meet people, explore, get experience...just like the TV shows.
People said STO is good, even if you're not a huge Star Trek fan. It's so true.

Indeed. There's actually a whole bunch of players in game that aren't Trek fans at all. In several cases it was STO that got some of them hooked on Trek, so they went back and watched the TV episodes and wound up being Trek fans in the end. I always smile every time I see someone say that.
