No worries! Thanks for the heads up, though. Sorry if I jumped the gun!
I was just reading comments, etc., in the news. Y'know, with the game journalism these days, sometimes random posts in comments are more informative than the actual article.
The one word that came up a lot was "lackluster". That's exactly how I felt when I was in the Beta. Like I didn't mind the lack of mods, etc., and there were cool bits, but it lacked something.
People who were playing it already suggested it's still that way, so I'll wait a bit longer until I feel the compulsion, if I do.

There's a "play-for-free" weekend for anyone from the beta.
The beta of ESO, of course, was more like a try-before-you-buy rather than a beta, which is what they're doing again.
Also having some problems making this work. I happened to still have ESO Beta installed, worth trying if you're in the same boat.
EDIT - I thought it was THIS weekend. It's NEXT weekend. From the official ESO site:
From Thursday, April 16th at 15:00 BST through Monday, April 20th at 15:00 BST, we're inviting all beta players who never purchased the game to join us for a free weekend! You'll be able to download the game and experience all of our six major game updates, tons of improvements and fixes, and all of Tamriel Unlimited. We hope you'll join us!

They are missing WHY there are Beta players who never puchased their game.
They had Beta swarmed by the Elder Scrolls fans. Since their game does not feel even remotely like an Elder Scrolls game, these players are simply not interested in playing.
Tons of mmos are there, why to play yet another average theme park? Just because this one has TES decorations over it?
I was in beta. I wanted to subscribe, but Beta was precisely what did convince me that the game is not worth the time and will never be.
Along with the Transformers Universe this is the only game I've played and I'd have absolutely no regret if it was shut down.
Not because I hate it so much and I'd like it shut down, or because it's THAT terrible.
But because this game is so terribly unnecessary, so redundant, so average, it missed its mark so much.
Buy to play? Well... Why? I wouldn't play it again even if it was completely f2p.

Well if the gameplay remains the same and the combat animations also not improved with all updates, there is no much reason to play. Although TES never had good combat mechanic. For those who like the lore, it is all there, however if you is not very big fan, the atmosphere/environment of Skyrim is very different. According from one ZeniMax System QA employee the idea being to follow up Skyrim with a big marketing campaign with WETA and then launch, but less than a year and a half from launch the game wasn't remotely near alpha state, it was amazed they finished it at all. There was no hope of it being a great MMO regardless. As he said a friend and ZOS producer commented : "half the team seemed to think they were making a single player game, the other half, WoW". When you get 50 cooks in the kitchen trying to make one cake, if you get it done at all, be sure it isn't going to be a masterpiece. But overall, if I still had the game installed, surely would play to check the state of the game.
