With all of the inherent knock-backs present in these powers why isn't Ego one of the superstats? Behemoth's get a few knock-type powers and they all benefit from having superstatted Strength. Is it because just about every power an Impulse gets has knock-back built in?

I think it's because Force (Or at least Force Cascade) takes a lot of energy, and a lot of the powers revolve around energy (Force Shield, Protection Field, etc.). The only issue I can find here is that the AT has to find gear to support END/INT AND EGO, all three of the Utility stats.

all thanks to the tk review. They knew the stat review would happen when they made this Archetype, so it really didn't change anything.

I saw in the guide that it was said Personal Force Field was under review. Is there any status on this? I am at the point of trying to decide which path to go, Kinetic Manipulation or Personal Force Field.
It seems the Force Surge power benefits the Personal Force Field most, is that true? I almost exclusively PvE and team for missions.
Anyone care to share their experience with trying both? I am at the point where I have Force Surge and am wondering if I should Retcon back to take PFF.
Thanks

The PFF review has not been updated so far, and I believe it will be part of a larger undertaking of balancing Passives as a whole (Do not quote me on this, I have no proof) so it may take a while for PFF to become as good as the other Passives. You can, of course, do well in solo PvE with PFF if you use Protection Field and Field Surge well, it all really comes down to how you want to play the Impulse. As a crowd controlling character with a lot of DPS or a crowd controlling character with some survivability?

Thanks for the reply.
I have had only some marginal survivability issues utilizing the guide for offensive build and KM (great guide by the way). I did wait for the TK review to finish before I started my character, thus investing in EGO.
I guess I'll stay with KM and continue leveling up and see how it goes. While the knock-back can be fun, I have found it somewhat irritating at times, when you want to hit the big baddie in a group with Force Blast as an initial DPS spike, which then launches them out of range of the power builder and have to then go chase them down, while the other minor henchmen then start beating on you. I do like Force Eruption to get melee off me, I wish some other AT's had something similar.
Thanks again.

Added an alternative to use Protection Field in the Offensive Build if one wants additional survivability.

Thanks again. That is why I activate my shield w/sheathe before attacking. It not only protects me from the little minions, but it also gives me a huge energy boost.

I like this guide but can I make a request? I just made 18, had 2 advantage points saved and had a hard time deciding what to take. Would it be possible to list what would best be taken at each level up? I know, that's a lot of work, but iaw the guide there were 3 things I could have done. I took KM r2 btw

I took KM r2 btw I understand your request, but I don't like to do that, due to how I usually spend Advantage Points. I usually spend both Advantage Points and Talents on what I feel is needed at that time. Want more offense? Rank up your Passive. One particular skill feeling udnerpowered? Rank that up. One of your SuperStats lagging behind? Spend your talent on that. Ranking your Passive is generally a good idea, BTW, so if you have doubt you should always get it to R3 first before you consider other options. (IMO)

they need to give this at knock resistance. It's not fair that other ATs get knocks and are knock resistant. >_>

Really, it felt like they procrastinated until the day before it's release and just slapped it together in an hour...
PFF needs work. Use another Super Stat besides Intelligent because, in my opinion, has no real benefit to any of the Impulse skills. Do something about that Level 8 skill fork.
I had an impulse myself, dropping money into it because I thought it would be fun... It was only good as a slow moving solo and not beneficial for a multi person team...

I think a better ego/presence/con talent spread should patch that. Anyways, thanks for the answer anyways. But I think is a funny AT, just me. good bye Hi! Force Detonation is indeed a fun power, and for pure PvE I would pick it over Force Geyser. Force Geyser is better for NttG, but if you like to send things flying, Detonation is better for you.
