Soldier here. Should I feel bad about it? Almost nobody chooses this AT, even though it's awesome for solo'ing (which I've seen people complain AT's can't do) :S

I choose "The Grimoire".
To me it is the only viable solo AT.
- I get "pets" at a very early level in the sigils. - A personal force shield - +17 to all stats - A spammable PBAoE with knockback AND Disorientation. (upgraded) - A heal @ level 17
Maybe it is just me but the other ATs seem a lot harder to solo with.

Pyre dropped the difficulty of everything by a lot. Conflagration even more so, since I don't have to dive into the enemies to waste them. At level 21 right now. Just finished doing Psimon solo, don't think I ever went below half health. Not sure how it goes from there, but if enemies continue melting this fast...

23 free form characters here. I'm too used to 14 power picks of my own choosing to suddenly drop down to 11 power picks I don't get to choose.

I have one of every Archtype however I am leaning towards the Mind as support/healer and a Soldier atm. Very nice for solo leveling.

I voted for Savage, just because no one else had yet. Savage + Acrobatics is just fun as all get out. I've also got a Grimoire, an Inferno and a Soldier.

Pyro starts out very weak, it actually took me 3 attempts to down Black Tom at the end of the tutorial. The fire had little effect on his health bar.
Glacier was okay in the tutorial but now that I am facing 3-4 mobs at a time the damage output is not good enough. Ice Cage explosion should do a lot more damage than 65 in a AoE. Invulurability decreases damage by 11?!!! WTFudge is the usefulness of that?
Soldier is okay but switching weapons every few seconds is silly, it is the reason I loved the dual pistol build from demo version.
Mind AT is not intended to solo as far as I can tell from looking at its skills. It is a shame since the "Mind powers" from CoX were pretty strong and I liked playing that power set. But then again a long range nuke that the target ignored was a little overpowering.

I'm rockin' my Grimoire, I love my Specialist, and I enjoy my Marksman and my Blade.

Invulurability decreases damage by 11?!!! WTFudge is the usefulness of that? Glacier is tough in the beginning, not having a viable AoE for a while. The 11 flat damage mitigation is nothing to scoff at at lower levels, especially against quick Henchman attacks, and then we shall not forget the damage resistance buff it also provides. Just hold on 'til Level 11, where you get an AoE of two, Frost Breath or Snow Storm. Frost Breath is better as a setup power, increasing the power of Ice Blast and, later, Shatter, while Snow Storm with Eye of the Storm has higher damage if you compare them directly to each other. You'll see the game gets a lot easier from there on out.

I voted for glacier as this is my main character and it's a lot of fun to play. Right now I'm lvl 24 and there has yet to be a mission I can't solo on very hard.

Invulurability decreases damage by 11?!!! WTFudge is the usefulness of that? Just to clarify how Invuln works. Invul mitigates damage twice by using two different methods. First it take incoming damage and subtracts a flat number off of it (in your case it's 11 you said, on my Lv40 it's 139). So if any attack comes in that doesn't exceed that subtraction number the damage is essentially ignored (you take the minimum damage allowed which is 1 point). After that the remaining damage is cut down by a percentage. On my Lv40 it's 62%. Invuln is hella useful. Also, regarding the ice cages. You only get the most of shattering objects by using the power Shatter along with Ice Form and the now working properly Cold Snap buff. Without those ice object explosions can be lackluster and the Glacier AT lacks Ice Form because newer players would likely hate it (Ice Form builds tend to be squishy and generally require a good amount of setup and experience to use, they aren't pick up and play).
