I need to retcon Kid Kosmonaut. He was a healer using powers from several trees, including gadgeteering, telekinesis, celestial... you name it, plus force for damage (which is what I used to level to 40).
I want to rebuild him with more emphasis on Gadgeteering, especially now that he can get a slotted passive (Medical Nanites). I've read Medical Nanites has a real problem though, since the automatic healing will generate threat constantly, before a tank even has a chance to target enemies.
Any thoughts on this? Or what powers would have good synergy with a gadg. healer?
Thanks!

But any actual tank should be putting out loads more threat than that...and DPSers too. For a Gadget healer I'd lean on Mindful Reinforcement, Bionic Shielding and maybe Psionic Healing to stay in theme. I honestly wouldn't touch Medical Nanites though. Garbage power IMO. I'd use Aura of Radiant Protection without the Runic Circles to give everyone mitigation. A Nimbus of Force item to bubble everyone comes in handy too. I have some extras if you need one.

Thanks for the feedback.
My take on the problem with Medical Nanites is that it's constantly healing; but I'm not sure on the healing/threat mechanics, whether healing only generates threat if the target is below full health, or if the "act" of healing causes threat, even if the points aren't needed (overhealing).
Aura of Radiant Protection was my original passive, so I don't mind going back to that. I was interested in the new powers mostly because they fit my theme; that said, if I'm taking on the healing role I don't want to hamstring the entire group to fit my theme.
What is the effect of Nimbus of Force? Are they a purchased or crafted item? I definitely appreciate the offer, and would be very grateful if you can spare one.

It's a bloodmoon drop that puts a high HP Personal Force Field on 10 friendly targets at once. I farmed a TON of them during the last bloodmoon event. Speaking of...I wonder what I'll farm tomorrow. It has unlimited uses but 3 minute cooldown (reduced with high INT if you have it).

There's a Massively article currently on the news ticker on the main CO website that goes over threat mechanics fairly well, including threat from healing. Its worth a read and something I may quote from if I do an Advanced Teamwork guide.

Is it another Massively article that only shows up AFTER a post on the subject is already made in very detailed form on the forums (in this case Rynohound's threat breakdown thread)?
