Now that I've been using skewer for a while, I keep wondering if there is a point is pressing any other button...

Oh this is terrible. I purposely bought 2 char slots for Impulse and Tempest and then I read this guide. ARRGH!
Good thing I haven't plugged them in yet. Now who to drop the Impulse or the Tempest.... Decisions, decisions.....

It really is an awesome AT in pve and a real beast in pvp (at least until T3).
What I like the most is probably your ability to rip apart squishies in 2 hits and compete well against glaciers (alpha strikes helps against invul) and behemoths.
Be careful on not getting tunnel vision though...i know i tend to stay too long out of teleport and get massive aggro when people realize someone is killing squishies in under 4 seconds.
If you want to pvp, take crippling challenge as early as possible as it really throws people out of their game when they realize they can't block. A fully avantaged skewer is also mandatory.
I love my dev !

How well would Super Jump work instead of Teleport? From what I read, it makes roots and holds harder to land on you.

Just one thing I had to get straight though, those single blade power enhancement drops really don't add any effect with the weapon. (I use the HeavyMecha Sword). Good for the costume unlocks but otherwise.....
But it figures because you can have a mace/hammer but it would be sweet if those drops did add those effects.

Now that I have the Devastator AT, I'm considering creating a Triple H character complete with the sledgehammer.

Would it be terribly detrimental if I got Initiative at some point? There are many situations I'm in where charging is a bit excessive. (Doing 2k on 500hp mobs, for example)

I now have a Devastator myself, I found the promotional set that Alienware were giving away for free, I decided to try it out to see if I liked it.
So far, it's a lot better than the Blade in my opinion, it's a lot less soft that Blades, not to mention, the animations for their attacks are very dynamic, I'm a fan of the Decimate animation, unlike most games, it does show attention to the clipping issues with the large weapons by having earth splitting animations added to it.
I made room by removing the mind I was starting with, because I need to admit, I never saw myself as a full blown support type..

Lovin' this AT and the guide:-) sure, there's arches with better defence(polite understatement) but for pure game fun, I find it hard to beat sending mobsters flying with a massive hammer.

My favorite of the ATs I've played.
And I use silly-looking super jump with it because it just seems to fit better than the others.
