40+ posts and no intro. I hereby introduce myself. I'm parkel, f2p player, not considering to go gold since i'm happy with ATs and i certainly don't want to spend money considering my tight budget each month. I am currently enrolled in polytechnic, and still am living with my parents. but i'm currently supporting myself (for reasons i don't want to talk about) in terms of food and I have to pay part of the electricity/water bill per month. And I usually save about $100 a month. That's not enough IMO. Either way, I'm only 17 this year, no life experiences whatsoever. Chanced upon this forum after learning that the official forums disallowed silver postings. Google's always your best friend I guess. I'm into anime/manga. Anyone with me? ;D Most of my costume inspirations come from anime characters/blazblue characters (yes I'm into BBCT/CS too!). Nice to meet you all.  |

I'm starting to meet "Anime fans" who have never seen (and a few who have never heard) of Ninja Scroll, Akira, Hokuto No Ken or Grappler Baki (is my theme showing? . Every time this happens I feel just that little bit older. i'm one of those who've never heard of Ninja Scroll and Hokuto no Ken. I did watch Akira and a few episodes of Grappler Baki before dropping it. Wasn't my taste. But Akira was really, really fantastic. ESP win!!! ;D I preferred watching Darker Than Black (Ryuusei no Gemini), Blood+, Initial D (Stage 1 to 4), Clannad (After Story), Hajime no Ippo (New Challenger), Gundam 00 (Both seasons), Gundam Seed (Destiny). Spent the last 3 years watching the above |

Ninja Scroll I found very "meh" Fist of the North Star I watched more than once. I still believe the story to be extremly shallow, but the movie is a must see |

Guyver was fantastic.
Two of my faves are Space Adventure Cobra and anything by Rumiko Takahashi. A mix of Ranma 1/2 and Dragon Ball got me into martial arts to begin with lol.
And Macross, and a bunch of the smaller no name Giant Robot series that nobody's ever heard of.

Did they ever finish translating the whole series? When we were watching it there was some delay and we had to wait and wait for the next episode to come out on VHS (back in the days of VHS...) Can never remember the quote from that little boy, explaining Hokuto Shinken every fight... the one about % of strength used... |

Welcome to the boards, parkel! Im not much of an anime fan but I used to hang out with a lot of people that were back in my teens, so I've basically seen most of the older movies/series mentioned so far (though I might not remember much of all of them, or saw mostly bits and pieces of others  ): Guyver, Akira, Fits of the North Star and Ninja Scrolls (a few episodes and bits of the movies), Robotech, Appleseed, and a bunch of other series and movies I dont remember at the moment. |
