I just ranked up both Clobber and Defensive Combo for my Behemoth archetype and was disappointed to discover that the sound effects for Rank 3 of both those powers is pretty horrible . It sounds like bad reverb from speakers or something - like a muffled explosion rather than something nice and crisp sounding. More to the point though - I preferred it when it was just a good ol punching sound, not an explosion-sounding thing . Is there anyway I can keep Rank 3 for both powers but edit a file or something that'll make it play the original punching sound effect? Thanks!

As all sounds are in a .hogg file, I doubt there is a way to do it for us simple users. While you can find extractors to get the information out of the .hogg , I have no idea how you would then go about creating the new .hogg file with the altered information.

I'm not a Dev or a GM but in my experiences with online games altering the game files is usually violating the Terms of Service in some way. I advise against doing so.

Well, that's unfortunate! But thank you you two, for your feedback, anyway . I'm not heavily into the roleplaying aspect of RPGs (I'm more interested in the mechanics), but I'm still interested in making my character feel the way I want them to. In this case, I feel that 'flavour' for my character beats out mechanics, so I'll probably retcon back to Rank 2 for both Clobber and Defensive Combo.

I doubt it would even work. The patcher would probably recognized a "damaged" file and start a repair right away.
And even if it would work, you could change the files to your advantage. Like making extreme strange and loud sounds so you can always tell by the sound which attack the other player does.
Or stuff like that.
So definitely not allowed ^^

Isn't clobber your Energy Builder? Ranking it up may have been wasted Advantage Points anyway

Isn't clobber your Energy Builder? Ranking it up may have been wasted Advantage Points anyway Why do you point out that it's my Energy Builder? Is ranking up Energy Builders in this game not worth it? I thought that maybe because I have very low Recovery, I could put Rank up Clobber a bit to get increased Energy Generation. If you guys think that it isn't worth it though, then I'll put the points elsewhere .

If you guys think that it isn't worth it though, then I'll put the points elsewhere . It depends on your build. For most builds you can find numerous other ways of improving your energy management than ranking up your energy builder. However, ranking up energy builders is still a viable method as well and allows you to free up gear and talent slots you may have used on boosting your REC and use those slots for further boosting your Super Stats or rounding your hero out in some other area.
