Hello, after a lot of trouble i finaly found this forum. i think its completely stupid that there is no way to post on the offical forums as a silver member =/ but whateve.r.
i used to play back at release and i seem to recall there being a lot more power types. i know that electricity, power suit and celestial arnt here and i am sure that there are more..
the only reason i re-activated my account was to check out the celestial and/or just to see if enough has changed. are there any plans of them restoring these power sets? or can you earn them ingame?

They are all still available to gold players. You have to be a subscribing player though to have access to FreeForm characters (the character creation you remember from back then) and thus all power frameworks. As a Silver player you are limited to Archetypes and thus to the frameworks and powers that Archetypes use.

On that note, more Archetypes will be added in the future, and they aim to cover all the Frameworks with at least one Archetype each.

Seconding what Melkathi said. No Power sets were removed from the game.

Hmm...
I can think of one SH arch-type that's still missing from CO. Elastic-rubber-stretchy heroes. I'm pretty sure it's creation would be a Dev nightmare.

If Capcom could do it 20 years ago with Dhalsim in Street Fighter 2, I imagine they Cryptic could figure out how to do it now. However the archtype they are making for the new power framework they are adding next is called "The Destroyer" which does not sound super stretchy to me.

Actually, it's the Devastator, and it uses heavy melee AoE weapons.

Actually, it's the Devastator, and it uses heavy melee AoE weapons. Oh wow, got a link to where the devs provided this info? This AT sounds like it could be fun. The article I read just mentioned the name and I obviously remembered it incorrectly.

Here is the forum post of the article where Poz mentions the theme of the Framework for the first time. Right at the bottom, in the final paragraph. Just a quick skim through the replies will let you notice is mentioned at least 5 times. P.S. Hopefully the single-handed comment was just a slip of tongue - two-handed would be much more logical. In the best of worlds, we'd be given a choice!

But not all archetypes will be free for silver players. Actually, I'm pretty sure than any future content (Archetypes, game content, etc.) is going to be Gold only. I don't think they're planning on releasing anything additional for Silver members at this point - from here on out, you must buy anything extra.

I'm quite certain on that I heard somewhere that they will release some more free Archetypes. Not sure where, could be the Massively Speaking session, and I might have misunderstood, but it only makes sense to throw in carrots for the free players, too. It might even encourage them to spend some money in the long run.

They mentioned that they "might" add "some" free archetypes. I don't think they really are sure yet, but most things will probably be purchased by silvers.
