I'm sad to see so much of the accumulated CO wisdom and colorful personalities leaving the official forums, but I'm happy that most of them seem to be ending up here. I guess I will have to split my surfing time between the two forums now.

Or maybe not; the life seems to be going out of the Official forums at the moment.
I've NEVER seen so many disparate subforums go without new posts, for so long, as they have this afternoon.

The big german shepherd is Rex, he is a pretty good surrogate papa to these two rugrats but he struggles a bit because he's normally very possessive of toys, dog treats and so forth. He's pretty good about breaking the puppies up when they get to brawling, and when he gets tired of them he herds them into their beds in the kitchen and puts them down for naps.
The puppies (Leo and Phoebe) are pekingese-daschunds who came to us this week when a neighbor brought them home after having rescued them from unpleasant circumstances (but they have 4 dogs already and couldn't keep these).
And Rex was a stray who we adopted from the local shelter.
People in Alabama are pretty terrible about dumping animals and stuff, it makes this California transplant very sad.

People in Greece are equaly bad I rescued kittens from the garbage bin :/ Been a while, but I still perk my ears whenever I hear an animal, just in case it is in need of rescue.

GOGGIES! How does someone from California end up in Alabama? My mom and stepdad sold their homes in California (before the housing bubble popped) and retired to the south (lower cost of living, cheap real estate) about 10 years ago. I got out of the Navy last May and moved down here to help my mom out because my stepdad had lung cancer (he has since passed away). There are nice things about the south, but truth be told I don't think anyone who spent most of their life on the west coast can ever be truly assimilated to the culture here. I still am hoping to move back to Washington state eventually (that's where I was stationed in the Navy and its even better than California IMO).

I have a Pomeranian (Schecter) and a Paperanian (Carvin), both rescue dogs. I love the little buggers.
Schecter is King of teh Poms. He's about 28 pounds and knows he's a thoroughbred. Hopefully I'll post pics soon.
