Explanation:
Powers
Force Bolts w/ Energy Refraction - energy builder, energy form to lower cost of Force Cascade, decent layer of damage protection against nagging attacks.
Unleashed Rage - This power is in here because I like having a massive AOE of unleashed energy. I always liked it but the old restriction of needing 10 powers from Might to use it effectively made it a no go. Since that restriction has been lifted... This power scales its damage on the number of Enrage stacks you have at the time of activation.
Roomsweeper - Primary damage dealer. Enrage stacking power. Challenging Strikes adv. to generate threat and allow tanking/off-tanking depending.
Invulnerability - Thematic defensive passive. Provides solid defense against heavuy hitting attacks and renders smaller attacks nigh ignorable.
Mighty Leap - Gap closer for Roomsweeper, Unleashed Rage or Force Eruption.
Enraged w/ Endorphin Rush - This will grant a stacking damage buff and grant you energy whenever you knock a target. Also, Endorphin Rush will grant a nice heal over time.
Unbreakable w/ Better you than me - Oh $#%& button and/or enrage stacker/maintainer. I've noticed in this new build I tend to use to open a fight to help get my enrage stacks faster.
Resurgence - Massive "Oh $#%&" self heal.
Force Cascade - The signature attack. When you have enough energy (or when Energy Refraction procs) line the enemies up, fire this off and revel in the destruction.
Molecular Self Assembly - This power is here to maintain a steady flow of energy when Sho doesn't have aggro to feed him energy through Force Sheath.
Conviction - This is your small heal to be used every so often to keep your health topped off. Don't think of this as an emergency heal unless you like dying. Use it before things get dire.
Ego Surge w/ Nimble Mind - This will boost your damage as well as granted extra Ego to boost your ranged damage. Will also grant a sizeable increase your critical hit chance due to stacking CON.
Haymaker - It's BACK! At launch this was my favorite power in the game (Even above Roomsweeper, I know it's hard to believe...). So I had to throw this back in. This is your single target hitter. Charge it for a good shot or build up energy and tap spam it when you don't want to knock something into the next country.
Force Shield w/ Force sheath - Lingering mitigation, energy return that procs on incoming damage.
Primary Superstat
Strength - This was chosen because Sho Nuff's concept is all about being tough and knocking enemies as far as possible. Not the most efficient way to play but it's hella fun. This was also chosen due to the specialization 'Balance' in the Strength tree that allows Strength to assist ranged knocks. Also, it scales the damage boost from Enrage.
Secondary Superstats
Constitution - This was chosen to give Sho a bit of extra help as well as to increase the duration of Enrage stacks. It also scales the power Resurgence as well as the Strength specialization 'Juggernaut'.
Intelligence - This was chosen as an energy management stat. I wanted to lower the cost of firing Force Cascade so I could use it more often. This also scales Molecular Self Assembly to provide an energy return when powers such as Mighty Leap and Conviction come off of their respective cooldowns.
Talents
Choose talents at your own discretion. I chose the ones I did because I needed some Rec and all of my gear is STR/CON/END. Also Gear for Crit Chance.
Specializations
Strength:
Physical Peak - This is used to lower the energy cost of melee powers such as Roomsweeper and Haymaker.
Aggression - This is chosen to get more +Offense out of the +Offense on my gear. For players not using +Offense items you can swap this with Swole for a bit of health buffer.
Balance - This is the SOLE reason Sho Nuff is back in business and I'd like to thank Cryptic immensely for this. This spec allows the Strength score to scale the knock on ranged attacks. Sho's Force Eruption and Force Cascade now have that visual punch back that I enjoy so much.
Juggernaut - This specialization increases your defense rating based on your CON score and I don't like Sho dying when a stiff breeze hits him.
Protector:
Fortified Gear - This spec is to increase the amount of defense that you get from your gear. Like I said, I like this build to be reasonably tough (though it is FAR and away from the toughest build out there.
Bulwark - This is a tanking specialization. I run all of my characters in Hybrid role so for me this spec gives me increased threat generation without my needing to take the penalties of switching to tank role.
Defensive Expertise - This spec is used to allow me to use Unbreakable and Resurgence more often.
Resolute - Since I'm generally taking hits this spec punishes the baddies for hitting me with knocks or holds. This grants a heal over time whenever knocked or heal. The heal is a percentage of health so this spec merges with the CON superstat and the Swole specialization mentioned earlier.
Warden:
Fortified Gear - Same as before.
Ruthless - Extra Crit Severity.
Tenacious - This spec provides a stacking +offense boost based on getting hit.
The Best Defense - This spec converts your +defense score to +offense. At rank 3 of this spec 100% of your defense goes to offense. Yeah...love this one.
Mastery:
Protector Mastery - This was chosen because there is no combo attack in here to take advantage of Warden Mastery and I didn't feel like I need more Strength and +Offense on this character as much as I needed to be able to use my Resurgence when in a jam. Basically when your health falls below 30% the cooldown on all of your active defenses are immediately erased. You have two options in this case. You can pop Unbreakable to become temporarily invulnerable (incoming damage depending) while you pop Conviction a few times or you can pop Resurgence and try not to get your health cut down like that again for the next 60 seconds while Protector Mastery completes its cooldown.
