So I heard this game was f2p, and now I've been playing for over two days. I'm not sure whether I'm going to put money into this game yet.
I've tried the Soldier but I think I built it wrong, so now I'm trying The Mind. Unfortunately, I have no idea what advantages to put into it!
I was aiming for a character which can solo well and still has decent functions in a party, but I wasn't sure what to pick so I just tried some out. There is a lot of stuff which I don't recognize when I'm trying to find guides on forums, which I suppose is to do with free-form. Any advice for a silver newb would be appreciated!
Nice to meet you all!

My advice on a solo character would be a "blade" or a "behemoth".

My advice on a solo character would be a "blade" or a "behemoth". Welcome, nile. Yeah. My Behemoth, Purple Brick, is not doing so bad as a solo, but poor Webspeller, my Grimoire, has no more stars on her pic. The bullies in the park keep taking her lunch money. I'm about ready to delete her an try Ice toon. Probably also get my head handed to me with that one as well, but if I can get to Invulnerability... No, don't jinx yourself Zed. Am I right in thinking that the Behemoth really is all about STR and CON, while other Silver offerings need at least one other Super Stat to really make it as a Solo? Anybody? Anybody?

My main is "The Glacier" and I soloed everything up to this point (level 25), I can't say about further, since this is my first time playing, but it doesn't look like I'll have any trouble soloing all the way to 40. You have high HP and high endurance, since your super stats are CON/END, and you have a passive defensive slot power, invulnerability, which reduces damage by 47 (at level 25, rank 3) and reduces all energy damage by 50% (at level 25, rank 3), then there's "Ice Sheath" which increases your damage, all of your attacks pretty much freeze your targets in the spot. It is really an awesome archetype, tough I would, as I've said many times before, take "Ice Form" over "Invulnerability", too bad "The Glacier" isn't Avenger-type. Anyway, "The Glacier" is protector-type, a tank, if you will, and some of the skills you have are causing high treat, so well...is there a more decent party function, than a tank? - You tell me. Not to mention that "Ice Blast" just has the coolest firing stance, and it is just epic when you're charging it and firing.

Honestly, I had a lot rougher time soloing on my Blade than I am on my Grimoire. Once you get the Primal Sigils at level 6 it's kind of a breeze. Run/fly up to a group of bad guys, drop the Sigils, then stand around and watch them all die.

Level 14 now. Kind of waiting around not doing much until my 20 hours are up. Okay, the bullies in the park thing just a bit of an exaggeration. It's really right across from the park on a few building roof tops where Webspeller took her worse beatings. She was popping from one roof top to the next, doing what you just said -flying up to a small grouping of baddies and clicking on the Primal Sigils. She was real close to her next lvl. At one point she rescued someone on a roof and got a new a mission - Museum Rampage. She went over the side and down to the ground to find the door to the place and a pair of 18 lvl guys jumped her. I did not know they were 18th at the time. I mean, the guys on the roof were only 10th, so I assumed the neighborhood would be the same. IOW - I thought they had just gotten lucky. Tried it again, got slammed again. Anyway, she was on my third try at finding a door to the museum, staying airborne this time, when I decided (finally) to click on the toons below. As I said, all were 18th lvl. Next, I put her back in the park, there's a gang of four Purples near one set of stairs that has a magic object she can collect some components from and get that nice energy boost. Just my luck one of the "tougher, zoot suit guys" was walking by as I activated the PS, only I did not see him. Before I knew it. Dead again. Last hero point gone. {sniff, sniff } "Aaah, I wanted to try an Ice toon anyway." * * * "Aaah, their probably sour grapes anyway." said the fox of the grapes that hung to high for him to reach.

Thanks, I'll try out icy for now.
Edit: I'm playing a Behemoth right now, lot more offense orientated and I like it. My IGN is going to be Lucia, if you want to chat.
By the way, what is the command to whisper people?

Well ice is actually not that bad for soloing, but I felt like my glacier was pretty vulnerable at first. Now he seems to be a pretty tough champion, so if you get frustrated the first few levels just stick to it.
But I was grouping a lot with friends so that might be the reason why I died so much in missions at first, because the mobs get stronger the more people are in the group.
