So I'm back after over a year and half away. There is so much new stuff now, I don't even know where to start.

Hi, welcome back! I was in your shoes awhile back, let me sum up in 4 points.
1. Retcon at least 1 of your characters right away: the game mechanics have changed slightly so that you should use that Retcon. Your build and the way you allocate character points are mostly in tact, but the main difference is you have 3 Super Stats now (before, you had 2). Thus, if you don't retcon, you'll miss out on that bonus, and you'll find your character feeling really weak otherwise.
2. Update all your equipment: these have improved greatly. The items you have 1.5 years ago are probably underpowered. This is an even easier fix, just go to the Auction House and buy some items. You should see a major difference. This is important as, while you used to have 9 equipment slots, now you have 6, so you want to use all your slots on good things.
3. Mods: just stick them into equipment that have mod sockets. The tutorial is overly complicated, the Mod system is just like in Diablo, just stick gems into items to make them better.
4. Boss Fights/DPS have a greater focus now: just FYI. 1.5 years ago, the game was still focused on PvE mobs, so the most popular Archetypes/builds were more Area Effect/tanky (e.g. Glacier with Snow Storm). The new content since 1.5 years ago (i.e. Alerts) is more Boss Fight-focused, so single-target DPS plays a greater role. Example - my main used to be a Glacier, but now, I use my Unleashed more than anything).
These are just the key things I wish people told me when I got back, thus this sharing. Cya around.
