Do you hate guilds/supergroups? I do too! I hate the drama, the putting up with that guy you can't stand, having to go to scheduled things, being asked to participate in something you don't want, etc. But, with the server structure the way it is, it's entirely possible to never see the same person twice. So, I created a supergroup whose entire purpose is to be a chat room. No rules, no regulations, no requirements to join, nothing. Think of it as an extended friends list with an IRC channel. It can be a waystation until you find another supergroup you like, a place to stick alts so you can find groups, or just a channel to bicker with random people about something without having to leave a conversation because you are going inside the Inventions Trainer's building.
The only rule is this: I am your benevolent dictator, don't tick me off. The only way you can get kicked is by annoying me. Or possibly another person, I've deputized one or two now and then. Permissions are set to all pretty much universally, everyone can change the name, the "official" colors and emblems, the MotD, use the Supergroup Email function (which is broken right now anyway), even use the officer chat channel! Kinda defeats the purpose of an officer chat channel too, it's awesome! It's chaos of the finest order.
We're still one of the largest groups on the server, though a lot of people are "irregulars" (ie only play a few hours a week). The supergroup vault has successfully become self-sustaining, and I have it stocked with 18 slot bags so you can avoid the nuisance of swapping out bags as you level your first character. People put some random gear in there for you to browse through if you need an upgrade, and all 3 crafting schools are pretty well represented with materials. And don't forget the cash!
Basically everything you need to have a nice, easy leveling process on your first character, which was one of the reasons I started it and stocked the vault. 2g is a lot when you need 5n to retcon at level 10, but is nuthin' to a level 40. And with people around, there's usually someone to group with or ask questions of.
So if you want a place to hang out 'till something better comes along, and meet some neat people, join up today!
