i just notice that there are super shrinker in auction house.. but priced for over 1k gold.. as silver player can never hold enough gold to buy this.. so in another word this is a auction for gold member only =P
the way the limited game play is really funny, like this kind of doing pervent cash shop item trading between gold and silver member to the maximum..
p.s. come to think about it.. 250g isn't really much.... anyone buy any of the AT and play in this kind of condition?

Ya, I think there should be some kinda "Archetype market" which only allow Silver members to trade. That would be the place where the "Silver Market Mechanism" works with its own price level

As a Silver player, you can sort of get around the 250g cap by purchasing certain vendor crafting components. These components can be sold back for the same price they're bought for, effectively allowing you to "store" 250G in a stack of items.
Unfortunately, this does nothing to help Silver players work with the AH when it has inflated prices. F2P is still pretty new though, and I suspect that the percentage deposit on AH items will help rein in the prices in the next couple of months to more affordable levels.

Honestly, haven't seen anything to spend gold on, except power house retcon. I get tons of good drops, so far everything my Toon needs, and mission rewards. Only been playing two weeks, but dropped enhencements and crafting seems to fill my build gap so far. What else would we need the gold for? I see items in craft shops, but so far at craft lvl 200, haven't found a blueprint that needed them?

Their job is to entice real cash from us, after all.

A couple of things: Firstly, as far as things to buy, the AH gives access to a plethora of ingame costume pieces and gear. With the right resources backing you, you can obtain pretty much any ingame vanity item. I, for instance, buy Werewolf devices off of the C-store, and sell them for 400G apiece in the market. That allows me to convert about 10 dollars US into about 400 R points. Using that method I've obtained virtually every Vibora Bay drop, and all the gear I needed to liquidate to make the high level armor ingame. I'm two away from science and Arms right now, and all I need on that front are the Insights. Its also possible to use this method to get the craftable travel powers, also the cost investment for the player is somewhat insane.

Its also possible to use this method to get the craftable travel powers, also the cost investment for the player is somewhat insane. I was thinking - maybe the auction house could implement a system whereby there could be a trade-in + whatever gold you have on yourself system. Like for example, I want this device that's 400G and I don't have enough gold, but I have more than 500G "stored" in the form of vendor items. So, what I can do is actually "trade-in" the vendor items which amount to 400G, then those items will be transferred over to the seller, inclusive of any money, in case the vendor items are not enough as a form of currency to buy the 400G item. Then, the vendor items can be resold to the vendors themselves to get the 400G back for gold players. This also removes the limitation that silver players cannot put items up for more than 250G, since vendor items could also be used as currency. Another thing is, there could be a vendor who sells coins like this to "store" your gold. Remember that vendor who asks you to donate a set amount of money for a one star refill? Maybe each coin could be bought/sold for 1G, as another form of currency. I know this sounds too much for Cryptic to implement (I seriously doubt they would), but this would also prevent unnecessary (probably impulsive at times) spending of gold.

For myself... I have sworn never to place anything on the AH for more than 250g. Yes, this means that if I find another New Shadows Waist Cape, it will be offered for 250g. Which means that a silver player will be able to get enough actual in game currency to afford it. Unfortunately posting it at that price is likely to prompt someone to buy it and repost it at current inflated values but there is nothing I can do to prevent that. Until Cryptic gets off its duff and looks at the drop rates like people have been begging them to do, it is not likely to get much better. But I will do what I can, though I am only one person.

The AH is darn near worthless except for those going in looking for something very specefic.
There is no cash shop market thing in CO, crafting etc is virtually useless, and most players have more resources than a use for them.
Silvers can get around the 250g thing by hoarding stacks of mats, and it seems most trading is occuring in zone chat anyway (annoying as that is) so seeing something in the AH that you want can probably be followed up by asking if anyone has it for sell in chat.
Finally, the AH is not an actual Auction House, there's no bidding etc, it's just an "online posting," and most of the items for sale cost as much as they do for rarity or time required in order to make/get, usually at a very slim mark up for profit, if at all, so basically it's not a flaw in the "silver" system, it's a flaw in every system including drops, crafting, and AH to make it unpleasant for silvers, but just as pointless for golds.
tldr: yeah, it's stupid, but for more/different reasons than you think.

There have been numerous trading channels but the never last. People prefer to use zone chat since it reaches more people. Channels are only good if people bother to add them.

and chances are I'd add the trade channel, then put it on some tab that I rarely switch to. Have I mentioned that CO's chat interface needs detachable windows...
