As far as I know, this is an issue related to your IP locations, generally this issue happens to the ones in different regions other than the US. My IP address is from Vietnam and recently I am having the same problem as you guys. I tried to use programs that change my IP or manage my proxy and it works fine. Now I still can access to CO main website using these method but still I can't get the launcher to work. I think Cryptic has changed some options in their systems.

Thanks, Bob. I just sent off my own complaint to support@crypticstudios.com.
I'll post any response I get here.

I got an auto-response from Cryptic, so now I have a ticket number. That's it so far.

Good catch zacktroyer. I can confirm that using a proxy will allow access to all the Cryptic pages, but I also cannot get the launcher working.
Looking through the forums via proxy I must say thank you Kenpo for posting on our behalf. I appreciate the effort to get our voices heard.

Proxy setup is pretty easy. Here's a few links to help you get started. This will only let you access the boards and other Cryptic sites, not the launcher unfortunately. How-to Guide - www.torproject.org/docs/tor-doc-windows.html.enTorbutton for Firefox (easy on/off button) - www.torproject.org/torbutton/Hope that helps somewhat. Cryptic is being it's namesake and refusing to comment as usual. I wish they didn't have this habit of sticking their heads in the sand when something goes wrong...

If it's a proxy that lets you get to the web sites, why doesn't it allow you to actually play? And from your comment, I gather that Cryptic doesn't have a great support reputation?

Not in all areas from what I've seen and I've been around since beta. Some things they are great in communicating, others (such as troubleshooting) and they won't say a word for weeks.
The program has to be told to use the proxy (such as the Torbutton), with the launcher you cannot get to the setting even to use the proxy, it times out in attempting to check the launcher version.

I am new to Champions Online, do I just send off a email to the support email and they give me a ticket number?

Yup, just send it off explaining your problem and you'll get an auto-reply with a ticket number. Make sure you keep that because the ticket number is what you'll need to track further progress on the issue.

I never did get any response to my emails or tickets, but it seems that things may be resolved here too. I at least have web access without a proxy again. I will test out the game tonight and see if the launcher connects again.
Update: Yes, launcher is working as well. Good to have this fixed!
