Since I can't go to the official forum and list off all of the things I'd like to see made purchasable, I guess I'll just brainstorm here and maybe the ideas will... er.. find their way to them somehow. Whatever. I just figure it could make good conversation.
How about a pack of additional stance/pose/walk animations? Sure, we've already got a decent selection already. Normal, Heroic, Huge, Huge Beast and Beast for the guys, and Normal, Heroic, Vixen and Beast for the ladies, but I know they could come up with some other fun ones to really make peoples' characters feel unique as they're strutting around. The reason I know they could is because I know it's already possible. At one point, I think it was back during beta, you could actually access a very LARGE list of pose/walk options, including Robot, Zombie, Gorilla, floating just above the ground, etc. and some of them were pretty cool. I think if they made up a big pack of these and sold them as an account-wide upgrade for just a couple bucks, plenty of people would go for it. Maybe as an added bonuses the "Walk Like This" pack would also enable a couple new dance moves that nobody else would have access to.
In the same vein, I'd like to see alternate animations and models available for travel powers, maybe released as an inexpensive pack instead of a whole bunch of individual separate powers. Is there a technical reason that they haven't been able to do this yet? I just find it kind of weird that they can allow different walk animations and all that but can't allow me to, say... do a ROLLERBLADING animation while I'm super-speeding. Or maybe even www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHMPR7kXJak Fly like a moron! And I have actually had characters that I wanted to be super-jumpers but, upon seeing the ridiculous animation for it, quickly changed my mind.
Actually, while we're at it, maybe the option to enable emanation-points or something. Gold players can keep power hue shifting as a mark of prestige, but I feel like just about any other form of customization should be available to everyone, even if we've gotta pay a small fee for it. I mean, why should my telepath have to shoot mental blasts out of her hands if I don't want them to? It seems weird to me that we ARE allowed to choose the models for our weapon-based powers but we can't choose emanation points. Isn't that all the same thing?
My final suggestion, for now, is an important one: Account-wide bonus costume slots. We used to have that option, before the free-to-play started (and thank goodness, the ones I purchased then still apply to all of my characters. I would have been devastated otherwise) but now all we have access to are individual single-character slots. That would be wasted and lost forever if for any reason you ever have to delete the character. Having that option is fine, but I want to see the more-costume-slots-for-all-characters-ever option again, even if it would be more pricey than it used to. Like, maybe getting 1 extra slot account-wide would cost as much as three individuals, or something?
Or, alternately, they could just implement like an 80% credit refund on any non-expirable character-specific items that are lost if a character is deleted. I'm not saying that I plan to keep deleting my characters over and over, but it's hard for me to make any C-store purchases that could be for waste (you will never see me buy anything that has a limited time or number of uses. Ever.)
