Well, I got my Grimoire AT to lvl 18 and copied her over to the PTS and bumped her up to 40. Adding up all the costs puts a complete full retcon at 359G 89N 13L. I'll be posting this info on the main boards as well. At the very least silver players should be able to retcon with the resources they have on hand.
As a workaround until that's fixed use the vendor mats as people have said earlier. They sell back for the full price you bought them for. Go in the powerhouse, retcon as far as you can, leave to sell some mats then go back in to complete your full retcon.

Or is it less because there are things you actually can't change? If it's the former the retcon exceeds the resource limit by over 100G which supports what was stated earlier in this thread about a possible (or probable depending on your mindset) reason for why the limit is what it is.

Thanks for the effort Falchoin. With the info you provided, I think that the cap should be at least between 400-500 Globals to be reasonable.

Order matters when retconning, however it's not cheap enough either way. Assuming a silver player wants to fully retcon after using a retcon token (earned or free) said player would have to spend 291G 95N 44L.

Workarounds not withstanding, it sounds like Cradock was right on the money.

Workarounds not withstanding, it sounds like Cradock was right on the money. Though I can't make up my mind as to whether I approve or disapprove of Cryptic's tactic. On one hand, that encourages purchases in the C-Store, but on the other, that's penalizing a player for possible poor decision-making. Then again, most FTP MMORPGs require you to purchase attribute-point resets, but on the flip side, just because everyone does it doesn't mean that it's ok for you to do it...

If I remember correctly the Gold limit in LOTRO for free players is 2G lol so I'm quit fine with the limit in CO for now. Except there doing anything with the store, or subscribing and dropping, eliminated that (and a few other restrictions). Alternatively you could buy a gold cap limit removal. I might be missing something, as all I've done is look briefly on the forums (filled with posters who would not run into any problems associated with a gold cap, and so would not post about it unless it's one of you guys reposting from here), and the C Store, which does not have any gold cap option in it. Not that this is a major problem, or concern of mine (because there are poorer parts to this Free For All launch), but it shows poor planning on Cryptics part. Again.

Cryptic is quite aware of the numbers, so it is obvious they installed this very low limit in order to keep players from easily retconning their characters. Very deliberate and sly on Cryptic's part.

Well, if Cryptic set the limit to prevent players from easily retconning without a trip to the C-Store, they have failed. It is still very easy for a Silver character to generate stockpiles of ready G above 250 (as outlined in this thread).
So, regardless of why the limit was set where it is (personally I am opposed to a limit on resources of any sort), I suggest taht players take note of the suggestions made here, and ignore the limit.

Exactly. There are easy ways around it - it just takes awareness to pull off.

Exactly. There are easy ways around it - it just takes awareness to pull off. My thoughts exactly. There's a bagillion Silver players out there. How many do we have signed up here again? How many are registered on the Silver Chat channel? That's just to put things in perspective a bit. I'd imagine the awareness level of how easy the limit is to circumvent is a bit low ATM.
