If I bought a month of Gold Membership and unlocked the 8 characters limit, would they go away after the month when I get downgraded to silver? Would the characters be "locked" or something, with some kind of message saying "Hey, you can't play these right now. Get Gold!"
I guess the question can go to the various other perks as well. What do I get to keep? What do I lose?
I ask this because of things like leaving a Supergroup won't lock your second costume slot. You get to keep it. Which led me to this particular query.

You can use 2 of the 8 if you haven't bought any additional slots. If you buy additional slots, you can use 4 of the 10, or 6 of the 12, etc.
You lose everything that a Gold membership entails unless you've bought them during your earlier time as Silver.

That makes sense, thank you. Damn shame, though.

Pretty much exactly as you just said. You'd get your silver 2 character limit and if all your characters were gold you'd have the option to convert them to silver AT (unless they were silver at that you converted to freeform then you'd need an as yet unreleased c-store item) As regards everything else then the best analogy if that by subbing you rent it, stop paying and it all goes away. However - anything you bought with your stipend stays.

The stipend seems rather low. It'd take 3 months straight of Gold to get extra character slots for my Silver.
Well. I think I do plan on putting money into this when I can afford it. After all, there's a reason I'm here instead of WoW right now. Ran out of WoW money.

After all, there's a reason I'm here instead of WoW right now. Ran out of WoW money. True but it's worth noting that 3 months of gold have cost me £9.00 UK against £15.00 for 1500 tokens. I got a boxed copy of the game with a 30 day trial for £1.00 delivered and a 60 day gamecard from ebay for £8.00 delivered. I bought 2 more gamecards as well so in total I actually got 7 months of gold for around £23.00. I'm not going back to silver I'm too addicted now.

I think Euro to Dollar conversations are a bit against me, though. I'm American.
I do need to look up the prices of buying "Raw" Atari points, though. I'll do that later.

I would almost rather pay that because I could just nab what I want, but, if I could go gold (need to find those cards!) I would do it in a heart beat. Still, I agree, that is entirely too much, but remember who the company that has their name infront of the points is and what they use to be. Atari just isn't itself anymore, of course its a company still for profit...just lost a lot of the fun.

But it would take months for it to save up to the good stuff. Once again, I'm here instead of WoW because I ran out of WoW money.
So, best I can hope for is to get three months of gold, and immediately use the stipend to buy two slots that I'll be able to keep when I run out.

I have no idea what that acronym is.
But that's fairly good news.

the stipend you get when your gold does that stay when you go back to silver or do you loss it all.
