Hi,
Can someone with Gold access give the rest of us an update from the PTS forums regarding the TK review. Silvers don't have access to read the forum.
I want to create an Impulse character, but I decided to wait for the review to be implemented to start.
Thanks
From the June State of the Game...
Telekinesis Review:
The TK review is nearing completion and will be on PTS later this week. TK is a tough one to review and there is a lot that we can do to improve the framework. We have added 3 new powers, Telekinetic Assault, Telekinetic Burst and Telekinetic Lance (current working names) and updated the telekinesis power within the set.
There has been a ton of feedback on what the TK review should include and that feedback has shaped the changes we have made. Our goal is to have the latest changes on PTS for you to review this week. We’ll be working with the community to tune the changes and plan to get the TK review finished for a mid July release. Keep an eye out on the PTS forums for a post from Ame, detailing all the latest changes to the Telekinesis Framework.

You can read the forum as silver just fine, you just can't write without having paid at least once for something.

I tried to ride a link to the forum, but got a message that I had to be a Gold member to even view it. I found this in the PTS FAQ list... Q) Why can I not see the new PTS forums? A) In order to see and post in the new PTS forums, you need to make sure you a Gold Subscriber and have signed up for the test server using the above link.

Hm, yes apparently I was misinformed. To make up for that here is some information on the new TK stuff:
(note: this is just a rough outline, stuff is still getting changed all the time)
(Another note: If you want to play an Impulse, these changes will have almost no effect on you, the only thing affecting the Impulse is that knockback from his powers is now scaled on Ego instead of Strength)
New powers (Dev words):
Mental Discipline: This toggle power increases all Ego damage you deal while it is on, while increasing the Energy cost of your powers. It also increases your Crit Chance with all powers for every stack of Ego Leech you have. Has access to the Id Blades 0-point advantage, which grants dual Id Blade FX and animations for all Ego Blade attacks while the power is active.
Telekinetic Assault: This new Tier 0 power emits a maintained stream of TK blasts directed at your foe. Has access to the Accelerated Metabolism and Crippling Challenge advantages, as well as the custom advantage Explosive Potential, which adds an AoE damage component to the power.
Telekinetic Burst: This new Tier 1 power causes a burst of Telekinetic Blades on top of your foe, dealing AoE damage and potentially Disorienting your targets. Has access to the Accelerated Metabolism and Challenging Strikes advantages, as well as the custom advantage Sudden Impact, which adds Knock Down to the power.
Telekinetic Lance: This new tier 3 power launches a large TK Lance at your foe, dealing high damage and consuming your stacks of Ego Leech for an additional burst of damage to and around your target, as well as a short term buff based on the number of stacks consumed. Has access to the Accelerated Metabolism and Crippling Challenge advantages, as well as the custom advantage Id Infusion, which increases the effectiveness of the buff provided by consuming stacks of Ego Leech.
New Passive: Id Mastery (new passive for melee TK, while the existing Ego Form is meant for ranged/hybrid Tk characters)
Power Rework:
Telekinesis: This power has been reworked. It is now performed by targeting a nearby foe, and the power will automatically grab a nearby object and launch it at that target. Due to the changes to the power, and the fact it no longer needs to be activated twice (thus halving the total activation time... assuming you were really fast at swapping targets) the Energy cost has been increased from 20 to 30 Energy.
In addition there has been a ton of various small number tweaks, too numerous and spread out between threads to list.
The end result should be a dramatic increase in almost all respects for TK blades user, and the new possibility for a ranged TK build.

Thanks for giving an update.
I have always been silver so I have no deep understanding of the frameworks. How do the framework changes affect AT builds?
I have for instance a Mind AT and want to make an Impulse AT, how exactly do the framework changes impact existing ATs?
If they make significant changes to the ATs, what happens to a leveled up AT? Do you have to RETCON down at your own expense to make changes?
Thanks again.

I have for instance a Mind AT and want to make an Impulse AT, how exactly do the framework changes impact existing ATs? For the Impulse these changes will have almost no effect, the only thing affecting the Impulse is that knockback from his powers is now scaled on Ego instead of Strength. While the Mind has some TK powers, I don't think any of the ones it uses have been changed significantly. So you will hardly notice the upcoming changes with the ATs you chose.

If they make significant changes to the ATs, what happens to a leveled up AT? Do you have to RETCON down at your own expense to make changes?... The best way to think about it is that Archetypes are generally the Archetype of a Freeform (Gold) powerset. Inferno=Fire, Void=Darkness, Mind=Telepathy etc (there are exceptions like the Specialist is a dual blades/munitions mix). The changes to the frameworks are generally being done to those which haven't got an AT and an AT is being created at the same time. Now when the Heavy Weapons Powerset came about and the Devastator was created there were changes to the Might (behemoth) powerset. What the Devs did for Gold players using the changed powers was to put the affected characters into the powerhouse and give them a free retcon. I cannot quite recall what happened to the silver (behemoth) players at the time though, did they get free retcons?. Can anyone remember? Anyway, I suspect Cryptic would do the same (free retcons) again if needed.

Thanks for the info dps!
Excellent news about telekinetic assault, I really wanted a tier 0 power for my psychic character but I hate ego blast and those damn purple swords!
Has anybody tried the telekinesis power? Does it run smoothly, no glitches? Does it pick up the nearest largest object, or just any one?

So I heard that TK blades will be customizable?
Any merit to this?

There's a few different sword model options for TK blades in the tailor, yes.
If you're looking to avoid pink swords, I'm afraid TK Assault isn't the answer. The graphic for it is a spiralling stream of pink swords...

I'm more interested in what the models look like.
