Hey all. I had a thought the other day while grinding at lvl 38 with my Glacier AT. Why is my ultimate power at lvl 40? I'd like to use Avalanche somewhere in the lower 30s. Is it like this for most AT? I know at lvl 32 my mind toon get Ego storm at 32...which is cool. But Avalanche for Glacier at 40? I'd like to benefit from it earlier. It would help leveling lol.

The ATs are built like that on purpose, yes. The ATs get their best attacks late for whatever reason Cryptic deemed appropriate.
Maybe it's to provide the ATs with a feeling of progression all the way to 40.
Maybe it's to give you a reason to freeform even if you have all the sets in AT form.
Maybe they just like licking the tears off of player cheeks.

I don't want them at very low levels. I mean they coulda gave me some of that goodness at lvl 37 or 38 that way I can progress with it for a couple levels. Like in CoH we got out nukes earlier so we can enjoy leveling with it. But yes, I know....this isn't CoH. Sorry for the comparison Cryptic.

Yes, most of the ATs get their best ability at 40, but gold freeform characters can get them much earlier. If you stay within one framework, you can get any power in that framework by level 14. At level 26, you will have enough powers to get any power in the game. The only exception to those two rules is the tier 4 powers which require 10 powers from a particular set of frameworks and the completion of the Vibora Bay crisis.

Somehow I don't think Life Drain is the best ability the Void AT has but its the lvl 40 one. Kinda weird.

I'm wondering if we still earn advantage points after reached the level 40? No really matter in that case the power you have at which level because you still have points to upgrade the power you have =)

Your last 2 advantage points are earned at Level 40 (I think ATs get 2), so saving up after 37 would be a good idea, especially since you can Rank 3 you Travel Power at 40 too.

Even better! No actual saving required, unless you want to spend 4-5 points on your Level 40 power and rank 3 your Travel Power.

Ok so we have to choose carefully how to spend our advantage points! The problem is, if we bought a second travel power at level 35 It's not really a good idea because we waste 1/2advantage point for something not really useful! I bought a travel power at c-store, i will buy an other one anyway but not the best I'm just level 31 i'll see in the near future

They simply want you to go gold .. as freeform its possible to take Avalanche at lvl 14
