This separate forum thing is dividing the community and putting silver members in isolation which imo not a smart thing to do as silver players are potential customers too.
Imo just limit the forum section access of the silver members or give gold members exclusive access to certain portion of the forum.

Cryptic thinks that if you haven't paid for anything yet you're not a potential customer, so you can't post until you've bought anything in the C-Store. Oh, and that's what they have done, honestly. Silvers (who haven't bought anything yet) have access to the PC & Technical Issues section, while the rest is purely for Gold members and Silvers who have bought anything.

Well what they are doing now is completely separating the forum.
I mean to let the silver access to the same forum but keep certain section just for gold members.
But it may bring more issues than it sounds.

Not sure what else they can do about it, but letting Silvers who bought something post seems like a decent solution.

On the upside, I haven't seen a single spam "buy some real estate now!" poster show up. On the downside, the system still doesn't seem to be working correctly all of the time.

It's kinda pointless, though - even with F2P making it tons easier to enter the game, I don't recall ever hearing of any sort of spamming associated with CO, either in-game or out of it on the forums.

It's not pointless at all. The reason you don't hear about spammers on the forums is because no spammer or spammer bot is going to pay money to spam only to give away money to Cryptic and then have the account banned. Since you can't post without paying money that effectively kills that problem before it can even get started. As for in-game, there were a few gold sellers spammig before F2P launched but they didn't last long as the game has no real economy to support gold sellers.

Those spammers can get completely out hand, Hell, I have seen some cases of that stuff, does anyone one here remembers Diablo 2?

Thank you very much for the information about PC&Tech! though at this point I think I've spent nearly 10k in CPs through self purchase or from gifts from friends and activations. So this is very dismaying. I did see where I could post in technical but no where else. So many little bugs are appearing in the rose garden that I saw CO as. Tsk Tsk. Though it does still look really nice. *Goes to submit more tickets and enjoy.*

There are more than a few posts about the issue of Cryptic points spending Silvers (who have not bought the retail copy and who have not ever had a subscription) still being locked out of the majority of the forums. forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?p=1964814#post1964814While not my post there, perhaps throwing in your 2 cents to show Cryptic that we can make up some tangible Net Dollars would be something nice?

I didn't bother reading the rest of the posts, I read about 3 of the posts, and decided to just wipe this topic out by speaking the truth.
To the guy that said F2P bring trollers, etc... What would a game be without trollers? Just nothing. You realize that every forum has to have a troll, it's a main source for sense of humour, plain seriousness gets boring by the time, which is the reason why the other guy said : "Gold wants Silver", and to the girl/guy, (anyways MMO is mainly guys playing as girls -_-) that said "Greedy Silvers", I think this should be pointed out to the developers of Champions Online, actually, they're the one that's greedy, if you told me one feature in the game that deserves "FREE FOR ALL", I would stand on my spot speechless, as nothing is great unless you're gold.

That's a very interesting point of view there mate, I have never met a single person that said to me they hang around in a place because it's full of throlls, while I have met countless people that would avoid a place altogether when it's overtaken by throlls, maybe you and I live in different worlds. Some throlls are hilarious though, specially in politics and religious topics, and those are not allowed in here, so sounds like you might be hanging around in wrong place if throlls are your thing. Now there is also the issue that some people would call someone a throll just because that person doesn't agree with them and it's willing to explain why, that's something to watch out for. Moderators, as far as I have seen are quite fair in regards to that.

You know, it was this topic that brought me to this place. I was wandering about the official forums in hopes of finding a super group to join and was somewhat surprised to find it restricted to Silver players like me. It kinda limited my experience some for the game as I was looking forward to speaking to other players about super groups and possibly doing some text RPing.
Oh well, led me here to which I found an awesome super group to join, and hopefully, I can perhaps get back into RPing either here or elsewhere.
Either way, I found it...odd to do such. *shrugs* Never ran upon a situation like that with an MMO.
