Slot some friggin constitution.
I wasn't sure how much of a difference it would make for my devastator. I was just concerned about being in melee with no defense.
A friend and I ran through Aftershock yesterday, and he couldn't stop from dieing on his soldier. Even when he would cease sidekicking(he was only a couple levels ahead of me) to gain an advantage. My sparse bit of extra HP meant I could finish tough fights. Even if only barely. It didn't help that he's not convinced he can..
1. Run effectively from a fight with superjump indoors.
2. Block and still deal damage.
but sheesh. Superstats aren't everything. Slot some con. Especially if you are squishy DPS. You won't live with the little bit of damage you squeeze out otherwise.
On a related note, any tips for a soldier to keep from dieing? My friend is saying he's having problems taking on bosses his level.

I was thinkin about this note the other day while running my lvl 27 Mind and my lvl 30 Dev. Gotta slot SOME CON. Adds the lil extra bit of survival to toon. I'm actually thinkin about going back and revamping my Dev a bit with a bit more con. My Knock up help with some non minion enemies. And the added defiance advantage has helped too. In monster island I find myself swarmed by viper, only to come out the victor in that scrap.

Any rpg I've played, you've got to have some HP. granted, if you're only playing solo, do whatever you want. But any time you group up with others, you're either wasting healer energy or annoying people by lying facedown.
Dead toon is useless toon.
Melee people have to worry about all the guys beating on them, plus the guys shooting at them. Ranged people have to worry about what happens when the melee guys get to them.
I've taken to making sure 1-2 (okay, almost always 2 - at least) of my slots have mostly con. Because corpse runs are never fun. Besides, you're less effective after dying.
