Oh no they di-in't.
I thought it was bad when they labeled Guyver 2 as a "Sci-Fi Original Movie". This takes the cake and runs with it.

No No No.
It is just not right.
(Though I have always hated Marvel's Thor, since I am quite well read in the Norse Mythology, and feel somewhat offended of the way they piss all over it.)

Am I wrong for thinking the duracell ad that played before the trailer had better choreography and acting?

Am I wrong for thinking the duracell ad that played before the trailer had better choreography and acting? Not at all. SciFi has always been a huge disappointment to me, and dumbing the name down from SciFi just made it worse. . . although I did hear people, including a coworker, call it 'sky-fi' - 'Because that's how it's spelled." A true life facepalm. I do have it on often, either as background noise or for a good laugh. Some of the funniest ones involve washed-up actors like Lou Diamond Phillips battling a hand puppet of death that get pretty silly. My wife calls it the "Things Eating People Channel".

SciFi showed, aired or whatevered BSG which I liked a lot. I don't think they did anything else worth watching... or at least I can't think of anything else.

Uh........
........
...... They did that Doctor Who with David Tennant, which got me watching Doctor Who (but I stopped after the last season with him, dunno why...) But yeah, BSG was alright, but I hated how it "changed" about halfway through or so - became less "Fight the powah!" and more "Hey, you know everything you thought you knew? Yeah, I defecated all over it. No need to thank me. Oh, and dead people are coming back to life like Dragon Ball Z." Turned me off of it.
Oh, and they DID do some anime on it, way back when - stuff like Akira, Vampire Hunter D, and Dominion Tank Police. I liked that.

A true life facepalm. Serious, I wonder who da hell came up with that bright idea. Syfy? Seriously? "Sci-fi" was too hard for them to read or spell? SciFi showed, aired or whatevered BSG which I liked a lot. I don't think they did anything else worth watching... or at least I can't think of anything else. I remember, from way back years ago when the network was still kinda new, they had Farscape, which I think may have been their first good original series with a significant following. And even then it had it's "meh" moments. But I thought it was a pretty decent effort for a small starting network. But the show got cancelled when "Syfy" (which was still properly called "Sci-fi" back then) bought the Stargate series from Showtime. The only show I currently watch from Syfy is Stargate Universe, but I barely watch the channel anymore, and I often have to download episodes because I forget to watch them (but then again, that's been happening with ALL TV shows for me--thanks to all the shows on DVD I can watch now ;D). EDIT: Also, I dont think anything they've done compares to BSG. That was probably the best show in the history of the network.

I forgot about Farscape - my dad loved that show. That was sort of how I got him to play an actual, post-1970's videogame (Mass Effect.)

What has been seen, cannot be unseen.
I haven't watched the 'STD channel' in a long time. This is only ONE of the MANY reasons.

I fully expected a Sci-Fi Channel movie when I rented My Name is Bruce a few years back, and it did not disappoint - it was up there with a good Sci-Fi Channel movie. I'd recommend it if you like the somewhat campier stuff. Not quite a Sci-Fi Channel movie, but it's up there.

God, and here i thought nothing could be worse than THIS in the cheesy anals of television superhero history It seems oddly appropriate that you misspelled annals the way you did in this context . . .
