Sweet. It's about time they got started on that.
Here's to hoping Disney won't screw it up.

Disney is capable of making good movies, ref. Pirates of the Caribbean. The real question is will they stay true to the characters. I don't really care if they stick to "canon" since canon in comic books seems to change every three years or so, but the characters tend to remain fairly unchanged from the base character.

Mark Ruffalo? What happened to Edward Norton? The Cast was ALMOST perfect

Here is the first production image. Not much, but still cool to see and to know an Avengers movie is actually happening. ;D As to why Mark Ruffalo is now Hulk, well Edward Norton really had a lot of input into the Incredible Hulk movie (which I really liked), which the producers didn't really like, so they went in another direction with Mark Ruffalo.

I wondered why they went with Mark Ruffalo as well. Casting in The Avengers (and Capt.A) and their take on the universe is basically going with The Ultimates take-on events. I wanted a nerdy intellectual looking Steve Buscemi as Banner, I mean.. The Hulk is always going to be CGI anyway, I didn't want Banner looking particularly stocky like Ruffalo is. Maybe he'll do a Christian Bale and starve himself to stick-insect status before filming?.

Yeah, it's just that they went to ALOT of trouble to set this premise up.
It's like a sequal, but not.
And to disrupt the flow by having ALL the actors from the previous movies BUT Norton kinda leaves a odd tone to the cast dontcha think?

Similar with Terrence Howard, and the wanting more money; some people just get too big for their breetches. The set up was great but if the actors are going to get in the way I don't see anyone putting up with it for very long.

Well like it was said Hulk will be all CGI anyway, Ruffalo is doing motion capture as Hulk, so it will be his movements and expression you see, like they did with Golum. Rumors have Loki controling Hulk and the Avengers have to stop him, so you may not see Ruffalo much a Banner...of course that's only a rumor.
