I knew there was a reason I can't stand Lady Gaga. But this just goes over the top arrogant diva, even for her. For those that haven't heard yet, lady gag gag just denied Weird Al Yankovic to use her song "Born This Way" as a new parody single for his latest album. Here's a run down of what happened. He asked politely, she said I need more info. He then sent her lyrics, she said she needed to hear it. Al really wanted to get this song approved so he missed vacation with his daughter to rush a recording. She says no. OMG! Really? It's not like she couldn't have known what it would sound like. It's HER song and she had the lyrics. Ugh! It pisses me off. Weird Al has been in the industry for years. I listened to him throughout my childhood and I would consider a respectable man in the music industry. How can someone be THAT arrogant to make him go through all the trouble and then say no? Just ridiculous. You can find the article here: The Gaga SagaWhat are y'alls thoughts on the matter?

Personally I never really liked her to begin with. I'm not going to harp on the lack of originality or marketing facade or the many many reasons I have to dislike her, but going to keep it simple with: there are no reasons to like her. Her songs are catchy at first but are all repetitively inane. And yeah, like Honor Guard said, she does most everything for attention, and it's never more obvious than after you've seen video of her performing at NYU before the whole "Lady Gaga" thing. She went from this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM51qOpwcIMto this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLjnzThfvv4Honestly, she wants to get rich, I can dig that. But I still don't like her. And she's lucky Weird Al even asked to do it, he doesn't have to - parody and all that, and on top of that his songs never make fun of the artist, they're usually just silly to a recognizable tune, and as much of a mess as she is, he's the last thing she needs to worry about.

Gaga is OK, you folks should leave him alone... and on top of that his songs never make fun of the artist Occassionally they do. But even then he gets permission.

One small point....that's not Al singing. Trust me. EDIT: Oh yeah, and just to stay on topic...I can't stand Gaga either. The problem with her trying to be as out there as she is can be summed up in one word. Madonna. After all the shock factor things Madonna did back in her heyday, people today have to go so far to shock that it just seems like too much.

I think something similar-ish happened back with his "Bad Hair Day" album, where his "feature track" was that Coolio parody "Amish Paradise" (which I love, being that I live about half an hour from Lancaster.) Pretty much he made the song, either forgot to ask Coolio for permission, or got permission but Coolio didn't like him making fun of his (rather absurd) hair, and Al apologized. I think.

So she got the publicity she wanted out of this? And isn't that really what it's all about?

And isn't that really what it's all about? Well, yes. That and not getting locked in our basement. That is important too.

Thanks All I said was that she bashed my faith...and I put faith on purpose so as to not specify. On topic: Well at least she's gonna let him now. Either way. I still can't stand her.
