Ok, now I'm lost. I never played or buy many obscure and/or comical RPGs. Only thing I can remember right now that sort of fits into that category was the Project A-ko RPG (there where a LOT of anime fans in my RPG circle).

Sorry to hear you had such horrible STs for your WW games Pax. I've had my fair share of nonsense in both WtA and VtM sessions due to munchkins turning them into a tournament arc story. The publisher didn't help matters by steadily catering more and more to that mindset with each new supplement.
Mage focused less on combat and more on discovery and just plain old utilizing the brain muscle. A munchkin ST would be hard pressed to turn a Mage session into a combat fest unless they flat out ignored stuff like Paradox...still happened quite a bit in the online sessions but they never lasted long.
Haven't tried the nWoD although some of their titles look enticing. Promethean especially.
Glad to see someone who remembers oWoD.

Just realized noone has brought up Warhamster yet Though the last campaign I GMed (years ago) was Mutant Chronicles. Last session the players were supposed to change some shipping lables in a warehouse without being noticed. They spend close to four hours real time trying to come up with a way to enter the warehouse without getting caught on camera. In the end they couldn't come up with something and we called it a night...

A munchkin ST would be hard pressed to turn a Mage session into a combat fest unless they flat out ignored stuff like Paradox...still happened quite a bit in the online sessions but they never lasted long. My fourteen year old Virtual Adept, with a slingshot, a pocket full of steel shot (always full, 'cause he had a shipping container filled with 'em stashed somewhere), and a "wrist rocket" slingshot would like to have a few words with you. Remember, Correspondence = location and movement, so he could add quite a bit of "oomf" to each shot! (Not as much as a Forces mage could, but, still quite nice). Garou? Switch to silver half-dollars (similarly endless supply). Etc. It's amazing how non-Paradox-incurring it is, to see a youngster with a slingshot. Isn't it? (Sadly, THAT game's ST had an issue, too - playing much too loose with the rules. When a different character got mind-controlled by someone with only one dot of Mind? Yeah, "no more for me, thanks.")

Bah. When it comes to WoD I'd pick Changeling over the rest any day of the week.

Damn, Pax sure got a lot of bad LT's playing WoD. Still, I almost envy the fact you even got to play those old White Wolf games. I liked a lot of what I read in those books. Really interesting setting, story elements and such. But one on in my gaming circle played them, and by the time I read the books my gaming days where already on decline. I also tried to play Mutant Chronicles at some points. I loved the art on the books, and the game had some interesting stuff for character backgrounds and such. EDIT: Bah. When it comes to WoD I'd pick Changeling over the rest any day of the week. Good one, hehe. I love fey creatures and such. The one I REALLY would have liked to play was Mage, though. I LUV magic, and it is really well implemented in that game, as well as having some decent setting and story concepts.
