I don't know how many of you folks know me, but here goes! On 08 OCT, I had a bleed in my brain that really messed up my ability to see for quite some time. I have been in the hospital quite a bit lately, getting all sorts of tests, and other things done to make sure this won't happen again. In the end, I didn't have insurance, and the bill is already astronomical. Some of my friends around convinced me to start up something called a gofundme. And this is already helping me manage some of the costs of this insane medical bill. Anything offered would be greatly appreciated, and would greatly help out! I really didn't want to do this at all, I'm not the type that usually asks for help, but sometimes, you just have to do it. Here's the link: gofund.me/vb8ccuecThank you to everyone in advance! XS

Damn. Sorry to hear this man. I know what it's like to go without insurance for long periods of time. I'm afraid I can't donate right now since my own financial situation is...less than stellar, shall we say. I'll definitely send you good vibes though. I also did a quick check on the expanded medicaid in NC (which is what you have listed in your Gofundme page) to see if you could qualify but sadly it looks like NC opted to not use the expanded medicaid under the ACA. I was able to get myself on that since MD went all in on the expanded program and it made all the difference for me. Very sad to see that your state won't let you have access to that.

Since I've had some experience with hospital stuff without having insurance, I did a quick check to see if there were any financial assistance programs or charities that you could look into. I found some cursory info but I have no idea if it will be any help at all since I don't know all the details about where you went and all that. I'll post them up anyway. Even if there's nothing you can use maybe you can get an idea of some stuff to look into over there. www.carolinashealthcare.org/chs-financial-assistancewww.wakemedphysicians.com/body.cfm?id=855www.uncmedicalcenter.org/uncmc/patients-visitors/billing/financial-assistance-programs/I do know that many places have charities you can apply for or financial assistance programs for uninsured patients that might help. Whether or not you can qualify for these things, I can't say unfortunately. But it never hurts to toss out an application anyway. Obviously the best thing would be for your state to wake up and sign onto the expanded medicaid, but short of that this is the best I can do.

NICE, thanks! And yeah; I applied for medicaid, but was declined; which is why I opted for the funding thing, a bunch of my gamer friends pushed me to do it. The bill just keeps getting huger, and huger, it's insane really. I'll have a look at those sites you listed there here shortly, and see if I can get something else. I just finally got everything I needed to apply for something similar through REX, which is the hospital that I went to. Since it's only 5 minutes from here. We'll see if that comes back in my favor. At least what I made so far from the fund me can cover the minor visits to the doc, and other things like that.
Thanks!

Hello XStorm! Glad to know that at least you are well.
I'm half away from Champions and games/computer in general also for medical problems in my family, so I can imagine what you're going through (I believe that here in Brazil is much worse). Luckily I have many relatives who are helping me.
I am praying for you and I'm sure everything will work out.
