The old TU thread is sorely outdated and I'm not about to dabble in necromancy.
To start off, I'm gonna quote Lantesh from the free stuff thread:

I gave this a try tonight. It's not entirely a MOBA as there is an open world PvE experience, called Free Roam, but it's pretty obvious they want you to PvP more than anything.
You start the tutorial with one 'Bot and once you finish it you're given two more. Unlocking others can be done completely via in-game grind but you are given the option of buying them outright with Relics, their funbucks.
I didn't try the PvP as I'm terrible at that sort of thing. I mostly zoomed around one of the open world PvE areas doing the random missions that would pop up periodically. In this area of the game it's a lot like Defiance in how the missions are openly co-op and track top scores. However the missions currently are nowhere near as impressive, there's no multi-stage objectives and very little variation to them. You're either blowing up randomly placed Energon Collectors guarded by Terrorcons, blowing up randomly placed Energon Collectors guarded by Vehicons, or blowing up either Terrorcons or Vehicons by themselves.
The cash shop itself is a bit pricey. Buying 1,000 Relics outright will run you $4.99 and unlocking individual 'Bots will run you anywhere from 2,000 Relics on up to 5-6K. They also offer Founder Packs in four tiers: Bronze to Cybernite. They range in price from just under $50 to nearly $450. I skipped the Founders Packs as I'm not willing to spend that sort of cash on a free-to-play game anymore.
I didn't experiment greatly with the three starter 'Bots but your choices are a heavy weapons dude, a medic and a sorta-sniper. The sorta-sniper and the heavy weapon dude seemed pretty solid when fighting NPCs as they both come with self-healing capabilities and a lot of offense.
The controls for robot mode are pretty straight forward except when handling melee. You can tap the attack button with your melee weapon and it'll attack but you do little damage. Whether your melee weapon is a giant two-handed axe or a set of punching plates, you get the best results from charging your attack first. This doesn't really make much sense in the case of light melee weapons like punch plates but that's how it all works. In ranged combat you can hold the right mouse button for a lock-on but you have to continuously hold down the button to maintain the lock. For a lot of the medium to short range guns this can be really frustrating.
Overall it's not a bad game but it definitely needs some polish and for the downloadable client to be able to operate in fullscreen windowed mode. Other than that I do think it's worth giving this game a look.
