Have you tried Neverwinter ? I know, I know, but despite everything this still seems to be a good option for a f2p fantasy MMO mainly when you are a bit tired / frustaded with SWtoR, that I still play, just need to finish Chapter 3 of my marauder and operative. I thought i'd give Neverwinter a try as well, started downloading the patch this morning before coming to work so i will load it up when i get hone, in the meantime i've been back on SWTOR after reading what you guys have been saying about GW2 i probally won't be playing that, besides no one has said what server/world they are on yet if they are still playing so i won't bother until i know theres some familiar people i could play with and show a noob how to play GW2 Don't let this new change to Traits, or our reactions to it, color your view on the game. GW2 is still pretty solid, it's just that now you have less choices to make in the early-to-mid game meta. Also, check out the older threads here that talk about Guild Wars 2. One of them lists where everyone is playing and I doubt that has changed.

Yeah my fault really i should have checked the older GW2 threads before saying that and you all seem to be on Crystal Desert, i'll need to check what server my characters are on, can't remember exactly and start again somehow, i didn't really want to necro an old thread I might give it a try sometime this weekend then and perhaps see some of you ingame, i also need to check my handle so i can add some people.

I was gonna wait until later today to log in but after reading this I had to speed things up. Wow, what was the thought process behind delaying an avenue of character building until practically halfway through the game? Maybe because of the way the players have been leveling their characters for a while - Join a zerg champ on Queensdale up to level 80, wear exotic armor set, wield a legendary and go farm fractals? On a closer look, since the Scarlet's event, everything follows this pattern: need a huge zerg train to be able to reach the entry stance, group ask you to show your build and gear (if you running a different build than expected or gear that is not at least exotic quality, you're out) and start your endless farm. That's why they changed some of the encounters but it doesn't explain why they changed the traits to delay character progression. If people are PLVing to 80 it doesn't matter to them if they unlock traits at 11 or 30 because they're shooting for 80 in the fastest time possible, similar to how I'm known to take only a few hours to go from 1 to 40 in CO when I feel like it. When doing that, I don't care when stuff unlocks since I'm not touching most of it until cap. For people playing normally the trait change does matter, especially people in the 11-29 range who had progressed their character and now had 1 to 19 levels worth of progression taken away by an update.

This thread revitalized the Guildwars fever for me. I wonder if you could help a noob, whats the most powerful class in GW2 right now, kind of like the way Ritualist were it for general gameplay in GW1 I figure there most be a class like that in GW 2. I also heard that Eles suck on PVP is that true? Can anyone share opinions on these GW2 classes since most of us agree GW2 is the clear winner here.

Warriors have been the most powerful class since release and have been buffed nearly every patch. The community on their forums that are not warriors are really pissed on how biased the devs are for the warrior. Necromancers are a close second at the moment.

Because Warriors were the single most under developed class in GW1 and were inferior to other classes in almost every way. Good To know this info, thanks a million man!
