Hello All,
Here's my story.
I logged and played CO last night and this morning with no problem.
Later in the afternoon I was checking out Neverwinter and logged onto Perfect World, but I noticed that my name was Redbot1984 (which was my Perfect World display name).
I launched CO while still logged onto Perfect World. I notice my Cryptic name was still visible Shalyndoa.
Both Perfect World and Cryptic share my username and password.
When I tried to launch the game I get "unable to authenticate."
While trying to figure out how to solve this log in issue I went over to the Cryptic Store to see what I could buy (I was gone for months).
ALL my in game reward currency for being a lifetime subscription was gone.
I went to Cryptic website to transfer a character to the Public Test Server to see if my characters were still there and to my relief they are all there.
I just cannot launch the game and lost all my in game currency to buy stuff in the Cryptic Store.
Please help!

I no longer get the "unable to authenticate" error message.
I got my currency back. WOOT!
Now I get the unable to patch to server message.

It's a major problem going on for all of Cryptic's games. Check out the STO mega thread about it: sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=815691Short version: It appears to be an issue between Verizon and Cogent. The STO Community Manager (pwebranflakes) responded saying that everything looks fine on Cryptic's end but that they are investigating anyway. Nearly everyone in the thread linked above is a Verizon customer, myself included, which is why we're pretty sure it's an issue with them. I haven't been able to log into STO since last night and still can't get in. Edit: Just tried and I can't log into CO either. Boo.

Alright so it looks like a handful of Verizon customers on the STO forums have gotten into the game by using a free VPN service to bypass the Verizon/Cogent mess. I don't have the time to mess with that stuff right now, but I will tomorrow and report back with results.

No problem. It was a rather nasty deal, but it looks like it might be getting sorted out. I was able to play most of today without the use of a VPN but had considerable lag and rubberbanding at times. Here's to hoping Verizon and Cogent can stop duking it out and we can get back to normal internet lol. If you or anyone else still can't log in at all, check this thread out: sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=817141I can't guarantee anything and as always, use at your own risk. However it might help.
