Well this seems kind of awesome. Single player with multi player stretch goals. Reminds me of champions and some the secret world thrown in as far as customization.

Ok... I want a character with that tornado power at the end of the intro trailer. Pretty cool game concept that's close to my ideal RPG--flexible, fully customizable (appearance and abilities) and adaptive to multiple playstyles. I hope they can make it happen and it turns out to be all they're setting out to make it be. Though, those are some pretty ambitious goals that are probably pretty hard to achieve, particularly balancing all those custom abilities.

I'm loving it already.
I just noticed at 2:49 in that video they show a lot of characters and I spotted so many "known" ones like Cloud and Vincent from final fantasy 7 and Solid Snake, Ryu Hayabusa etc.

I'm sad that they didn't make the 500k goal. This game is literally everything I have ever wanted in a single player gaming experience.

Not entirely unexpected. I mean it looked cool but I think the problem was that they never really said where they wanted to go with it. Sure the tech demos were super sweet, but I just couldn't get a feel of where it was going. Alright we get to build the character we want with all these super awesome powers to do...what exactly? I think they said something about a story line going on in one of the interviews but did they ever elaborate on any of it? Personally speaking, I need things like lore and story to provide reasons as to why I'm going out to kill people/things. Even if it's a basic story just give me some sort of excuse to use all these powers. Some evil organization plotting world domination? That works. Demons from hell want to blow up the world? Yep that's fine too. Some really evil dude is up to some really evil things? Good enough for me. Just...something other than some tech demos. Anyway it looked cool but I just didn't see enough structure there to interest me in the long term. I hope they keep working on it and maybe some day it will turn into something great. Eh. That kind of turned into a mini-rant there. Oh wells. Edit: Looks like they added in a little bit of story line on their old Kickstarter page. Seems to be alright but I still can't see where they wanted to ultimately go with it. Alright cool, augmentation exists and the gubment wants to lock it down. Some rebels want to fight back. So far so good. Do we get to pick sides? Are we neutral parties in between both factions? What do we even do? I dunno, just seems like my sticking point on that lol.

Aw jeez, why am I only finding out about this now that it's dead!? This looks like my own personal Holy Grail of gaming and storytelling!
A big sandbox to play around in? Check.
A huge assortment of player powers to choose from, with no pre-set classes to lock you in to having to get powers you don't want to be able to have the powers you DO want? Check.
Massive degree of player appearance customization so you can get EXACTLY the look you want? Check.
And last, but certainly not least, the ability to easily use all of these tools, with the help of a mod or two, to craft your own epic tales of heroism and villainy? Check and mate.
They may not have mentioned anything about a story for the default game, but with the caliber of tools they seemed dedicated to providing, that's not a problem for me. I got stories of my own to tell, and they essentially made the ultimate toolkit for making player-created stories a reality. It's mind-boggling to think that every game publisher these guys likely shopped this idea to all decided to say no to all the ridiculous amounts of money they would make with this. Even just using it as the basic platform to build other games around; like I said, it's the ultimate toolkit. You could make a hundred great games out of the stuff they've developed, all without diluting the original product.
Damn it, where's the nearest bank? I need to rob it so I can give these guys all the money. All the money that exists.
