The Setup:
The absolute most important part of this build is to commit to BOTH Str/Dex. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT!!! Setup Dex/Ego and Ignore Str. Your Passive scales off of both ss and so does your form. Stack as much of it till 250/250 minimally, in utility stat ego (~100+), end(30-40), con (As much as you can get in these slots, which might only be 20-30, but thats enough). In offense go exclusively Str/Dex, filling with 2x Martial Leggings (20str 20dex each) and 1x Martial Bracer (55sr 55dex). Def aswell you will want to stack as much str/dex and you can get. 20/20 is possible, but very difficult to get, start off with gear like 20/15 dex/str and 20/8/8 str/dex/ego or dex/str/ego or dex/str/rec. In defense primary, con or dodge gear are both acceptable, dodge gear is prefered, the rarest and best you can get is 20/20 dex/str with 52 dodge/avoid, being realistic you can get after a shiny tako dodge gear or grab 20/8/8 dex/str/rec or endwith 52 dodge/avoid.
Now if you noticed in my progression I did not take Versatility on Acrobatics, now don't go crazy yet, but I don't feel Versatility is very necessary, It's quite helpful, but not necessary. If you wish to grab it for some unfathomable obsession or you just like it, you can take a rank off of scything blade OR Reapers Caress. Now take note that i do not permit rec stacking at all as of now except in the case of 20/8/8, this is becuz Rec is currently tied to the same slots as Str and Dex, Developers have announced stat restrictions like that will be removed, when they are i will strongly recommend stacking the hell out of it in utility, but just utility. Now lets get down to the powers themselves.
The Powers:
Reapers Touch: Your energy builder, requires no ranking, it does its job.
Reapers Caress: Your main power to stack bleeds, a terrible power imho, but its the only one of 2 bleed applying powers, Rank 3 it so your doing DPS while trying to squeeze bleeds out of it. To be honest you won't use it very often except in the face of a blocker or a tank not targetting you.
Thunderbolt Lunge: The very important lunge power, without this you cant do much, Nailed to the Ground is pretty mandatory for PvP, and essence assault is the only stun you get, very useful.
Way of the Warrior: Its your Passive, Rank 3 of course.
Scything Blade: The only sure bleed applier.... when your enemy isnt bleeding, swallowtail cut is a nice bonus and can act as the 6th Ruptureable bleed, Rank 2 for the extra DPS when getting your quick Bleed. In PvE this will be your ONLY AoE power, so you will be spamming it at enemies while leveling.... a lot.
Parry: Your block, the only really useful thing it has is the advantage, which is very uselful, lose 10% DPS for a good deal of dodge/avoidance, good gearing and this will give you near Lightning Reflexes level of Dodge/Avoid.
Shuriken Throw: This will become your favorite power, spam it at opponents while out of lunge range, very good for kiting. Crippling Challenge so you have a block break, and rank 2 for extra DPS ( Its noticeable, trust me) Chained Kunai is a terrible advantage, cuts the range in half and raises the energy cost for a knock to, its not helpful vs behemoths and str ss opponents, unless your lucky.
Form of the Swordsman: Your form, necessary to use in battles, always have it on. Rank 2 for the extra focus. Taking Cut It Where It Counts is really optional, as its a weak advantage that gives 25% healing resistance to your opponent, its helpful vs healing opponents however.
Dragons Bite: The worst of all the Dragon powers, It has a bad advantage and weak damage. Energy cost of it is too high to put it in practical use, you might tap it on someone so you can stack a few more bleeds in preparation for a big rupture. Don't Rank it, infact pull it off your Powers Tray and pretend Cryptic didn't give you a level 27 power.
Masterful Dodge: This is your savior. By far considered the best active defense in the game, Your other choice is Inexorable Tides, a weakish Crowd Control, not really worth taking it for an active defense. Take the advantage for a bit extra damage, it helps more than you would think.
Reapers Embrace: The strongest power in the entire Martial Arts Power set, and what makes the Blade AT worth using. building this attack up is very impractical and difficult, you will rarely find yourself in the position of racking up 6 bleeds (swallowtail included) and a full charge slam for its true potential and massive damage. If my calculations were on, you can get up and over 20k-25k from the spike, but it takes so long to build that it seems impractical to use. Rank it all the way, Rank 3. DO NOT take No Mercy advantage, it fails more often than not and you will find yourself needing to tap or half charge this power than an actual full charge.
Strategy: start off kiting with shuriken throw, run in to lunge, but beyond 20', begin bleed stacking starting with a scything blade tap. If your opponent is attacking you it will probably be a good time to turn on Masterful Dodge, Finish with a Reapers Embrace, your opponents should be dead if its a squishy, if its a tank run back from more shurikens and repeat the process. ( probably will not need masterful dodge on in the first run if its a behemoth, save it for the second run in.) will your high str you wont get knocked so often as other squishies, so behemoths are not very scary 1v1. Remember you are not a tank so you won't last long from a focus fire, remember you have teleport, don't be afraid to use it in the arena or in BASH. ( Don't use it in duels though, thats just not cool )
