Hello there! Tis the spirit of giving, so I decided to share with everyone some builds that I have especially enjoyed playing on my character Witch-hunter Aria.
Before I begin, though, I want to state upfront that I build concept characters that are viable for both PvP and PvE, as I do quite a lot of both. The builds I'm posting below are all given alternative places to put advantage points to suit your needs. Also, please note all of my builds are for retconning into at lvl40.
Now, let me introduce my sweet Aria! She is the younger of the Witch-hunter sisters, and specializes in melee combat, unlike her sister Ishtar. Aria has, for the most part, been DEX/INT-based, as I believe that is a powerful combination for survival and DPS. Below is a tank build, an HW build, and finally a high-DPS build.
** For all 3 builds, aim for ~75 STR, ~225 INT, 250+ DEX, and 130+ EGO **
TANK: This was my first build on Aria when she turned 40, and is a very durable invuldodge setup. This build does require a dodge gear to be effective. If you like being unkillable among hordes of enemies, this is the build for you!
Superstats:
Level 6: Super Dexterity
Level 13: Super Intelligence
Powers:
Level 1: Rain Of Steel
Level 1: Parry -- The Elusive Monk
Level 6: Form of the Tempest
Level 6: Acrobatics -- Rank 2, Rank 3, Versatility
Level 8: Masterful Dodge
Level 11: Bountiful Chi Resurgence -- Resurgent Reiki
Level 14: Sword Cyclone -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Level 17: Void Shift -- Nailed to the Ground
Level 20: Invulnerability -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Level 23: Molecular Self-Assembly
Level 26: Conviction -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Level 29: Unbreakable -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Level 32: Evasive Maneuvers -- Rank 2
Level 35: Ascension
Level 38: Devour Essence -- Rank 2
You will be left with 5 advantage points: if you want to main-tank in PvE, slap Crippling Challenge on Devour Essence, and the other 2 points on your 2nd Travel Power; if you want to PvP, put Crippling on Void Shift, switch r2 on Evasive Maneuvers for Sleight of Mind, and get Phlebotomist on Devour Essence. You can pick any 2nd Travel Power.
Playstyle:
You will never have to block with this build...ever. Lunge in and pile on the hurt. Parry/EM will activate on any melee attack, so Sword Cyclone away the mobs and Devour anything that if left standing. Periodically hit Evasive Maneuvers, and re-lunge back in; this will up your dodge chance and proc MSA. You also have 2 ADs that you can rotate, as well as Ascension which is essentially a 3rd AD. In combat, you should have around 60% dodge with 60 avoidance...on top of Invulnerability.
