So I am fairly new to the game and started as an inventor Archetype. As I played I started to to feel as though it was better to just use that tap function on my Experimental Blaster rather then full charges. It appears as thought the DPS of the tap function is considerable more then the DPS of the Charge. When you through death ray on top of it I don't see why one would charge it. I am wondering if this feeling is valid or if it would be better to charge them. If you know power that are better tapped or charge (for any archetypes) throw them up.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I found The Inferno's Pyre attack worked better as a few taps instead of a charge-up because it kept the enemies in their "damage taking" animation and not hitting me like they would if I was standing there charging up.

He's asking if tapping or charging attacks/powers is more effective

Then I guess it depends upon which power. Tapping the submachine gun is pretty useless.

Then I guess it depends upon which power. Tapping the submachine gun is pretty useless. SMG is a maintained power, not a charged Charged attacks often have a special effekt when full charged, like the dragons attacks. On these attacks it often makes most sense to charge them once, and then tap-spam. Full charges are also better if you can maybe kill a group of henchmen with a range power directly with a full charge. In the end it all depends on the situation, your playstyle and the powers.
