How would you & Void be if I could lock Tuesdays & Thursdays from just after 3pm servertime for casual team? I'd still probably have to finish at 5pm. Fine by me, I'm home by that time (usually) If you wanted to we could try some PvP - Blood Moon Zombie Apocalypse does seem appropriate. Depends on what the new tropical storm does

Just realised I hadn't posted in here. I got a message from Joh the other day. Basically his PC has fried and it looks like he won't be able to get it fixed for a while so his hiatus has started earlier than intended. I hope he gets online soon but I'm guessing he'll be taking a break from CO when he does anyway. In the interim and until we hear from him I trust Nightfall will join me in saying - Hope your PC gets sorted, all the best Joh & hope to see you soon.

Quick update as Joh's been messaging a few of us when he's been able but bless 'im he's been going stir crazy without a PC and therefore access to TV shows, Drawing Pad, Deviantart, facebook flash games & gametrailers
We're kinda praying for a miracle that he can actually fix it but tbh he's pretty sure it either the Mobo or CPU that's fried.
If only sending him my old PC was an option (I'm guessing shipping alone would be great than the value of the PC.)
In the meantime Project Nightfall welcomes Flames of Hades (Major Crook) to the SG!

Finally remembered my password for this forum.
Yea my PC was a little over a year old (aka no warranty and I didn't buy an extended one since I bought it at expensive as hell buy -Best Buy) but it didn't die due to poor quality, more like what we should be used to in this third world country. Tropical Storm Irene took its toll with the power cable and while it was reported back then they haven't fixed it. Which is the same reason I don't buy a new one or even try to fix mine. I could buy a new PC with a UPS but then the UPS would be at risk. Anyway that's my current status. If I don't get back to CO before October then I'll be Silver for a while. Come November two of my favorite games will have a sequel (Uncharted and Saints Row) and I plan to play those. Already had a taste of Uncharted 3's beta and it is awesome.
This is not to place to put a rant about Ask Cryptic but I see that unlike previous ones people haven't created a topic to discuss what they liked or didn't.

Q: 1) Is there any near future (1 year) plans on getting the Foundry or a new UGC tool for CO?
A: At this point we are dedicated and focused on bringing you some really cool content and features while continuing to offer more customization options, power frameworks and advancement. We want to focus our resources on this goal for the time being and grow Champions by adding new zones and building on and improving end game. The Foundry would require the resources we need to achieve our current goals, so while we’d like to add The Foundry to Champs at some point in the future, we don’t have a timeframe for when this will happen yet.
OK so the way I see it is they rather spend more time and effort on things that will get stale. My fave content update is Resistance, but that doesn't mean I'm not bored of it. I might love it so much that I will play it every time someone says let's have a Resistance run but I never play on my own anymore. With The Foundry the get two things, regular content upgrades they don't have to work on and a way to force people to go gold. I was only able to try the Foundry for a day before my PC died, and I didn't even get to play other people's missions but God I had a blast. It was so much fun trying to put a mission together even on that less than intuitive UI. True that the percentage of players creating good content for the foundry would be so low that one would be discouraged to try and implement it. But that's only if you think of what you have not what you'll gain. What I mean is that while I had fun testing STO's foundry I just don't care about creating Star Trek's missions, I rather just play them. I was constantly visualizing Champions Online while I was on STO. Keep in mind that there are a lot more people interested in Super heroes (especially with the amazing character creator in CO) than doing work on a super recognized IP like Star Trek or even Star Wars for that matter. If the map customization in STO's Foundry works its way into CO we can pretty much create our own cities just like STO players have created some themselves. With the upcoming import setting on STO you can not only create a city but give that city progression which on itself puts it above what you currently have on both games. Now think about CO's awesome creator and you get the ability to create a Cyberpunk, Steampunk, Savage Land you name it type of setting. So yea they're putting more effort on things that won't really increase the value of the game. I keep saying that the game isn't worth $300 yet. There's a table that compares the costs of silver vs what you get as gold. You need to consider the time you'll be playing CO for that table to actually have a real "value" I've subscribed for 4 months in the 8-9 months I've been playing CO. Truth is I'm bored of playing the same missions over and over, I have around 4-5 lvl 40 toons that I use on lairs and the others I can't bring myself to level them up on my own (thus the creation of Project Nightfall.) So basically $60 can give you the same content $300 can. I have a long friendlist in CO, over half the people there left the game.
OK rant over, just that Cryptic needs to reconsider UGC. The Sims aren't popular because you play a god, it's thanks to its UGC, compare the PC versions with the countless others and you'll agree. If CoX didn't have such outdated graphics I would try that with Mission Architect.

I found it a bit odd myself about Foundry as I was figuring Comics was basically a test on their end of the editor based upon earlier comments.
As for the value I know I'm just working to get my 3rd 40 (Dead-Eye's at 38 right now) but I've just now done pretty much all of Monster Island and I'm chugging along on Lemuria. To me the game still has plenty of life left. But, I also enjoy replaying older games I have which in essence is what creating a new character in Champions amounts to.

To me the game still has plenty of life left. But, I also enjoy replaying older games I have which in essence is what creating a new character in Champions amounts to. Well you take it slow and have patience replaying the same thing over and over. (I actually lost count of how many times you replayed SR2, then again I played through it quite enough myself) But also what I mean by value doesn't mean amount of missions. More like type of missions. I hate Lemuria, hated the crisis and did try to enjoy the actual map but that was a one time only deal. I hate snow maps too so Canada fits the bill. So there are two maps I don't like but I'm not missing anything since we have the same type of missions through the rest of the maps. Only difference lies on Open Missions. That's what value and little content means. It's good that cryptic is paying attention and working hard on their CS, Resistance (AP I know but was the first to actually do things right) has different type of missions and a twist nobody expected the first time they played through it (and I don't mean the Dr. Destroyer thing, I still prefer the Dr. Defender idea from PTS) and AS while it revisited SL and DF it had so many cool gimmicks that it was fun. Not that I'll be playing too often through it. You're probably aware that the last few weeks I was playing, we (mostly people from SECRET, Ken almost daily) were doing Mega D runs. We kept saying that we needed more cosmics. At one point I know I said we needed more Open Missions, not sure but I remember reading that Cryptic is working on something that is sort of a mix of the two. Granted that the way cosmics are, it's pretty much like an Open Mission. Though the only cosmic that works in an OM is Mega D and that's what I want more of. 1. Cooldown = not so bad 2. mini missions = they're fun and challenging depending on your build 3. main mission = obviously fight the cosmic If they really add more of that then that's a good way towards expanding end game content.

But we already have Megalodon. He swims around during the Lemuria Crisis marked as friendly. But yeah, it would be fun to do a 3d battle against a major enemy.
I will admit I disliked Lemuria my first couple trips there but since then I've had a couple heroes who primarily fly so I'm more used to the 3d world that Lemuria offers. Canada isn't bad but the basically pure white landscape does get boring after a bit.

Yeah he was supposed to be in game anyway as a cosmic but they never finished it, so not only would we get that different 3D experience he should (theoretically) be part way to done anyway. Only got the Arvad Dethroned mission to finish for Angela and she's done in Lemuria - the now being able to see subs or divers etc is what bugs me most there. (i keep fixing it and it keep wigging out - now nothing does it - new PC should arrive this week so hopefully that'll fix it (sorry Joh, know that'll be a sore point for you.)) Still not taken a full melee alt there yet......

I've got the divers mission right now but see no divers to save so I'm just beating on random sharks.

I've got the divers mission right now but see no divers to save so I'm just beating on random sharks. It took me 3 days of randomly beating up the Great White sharks in the jellyfish bloom till I hit it. There's a spot towards the south where there should be two/three great whites relatively close together that I gather is the 'sweet spot'.

Yeah. I figured groups of sharks were my best bet but even go after them I've had no luck yet.
