I just love this build! However, I'm not too fond of the Void Horror. How is March Of The Dead or Ritual Of Ebon Summoning in comparison? Out of those two I'd pick the Ebon Summoning and go Rank 2, Unbound so you have essentially the same functionality as you did with the Void Horror. March of Dead is 1) Not a permanent summon and 2) cuts your equilibrium in half messing with your energy management.

Equilibrium is not really much of an issue with Dark Transfusion, is it?

Equilibrium is not really much of an issue with Dark Transfusion, is it? It is when you really can't afford to have a power running that does unmitigated damage yourself the way DT does. DT is great against trash mobs but situational against harder stuff.

I wanted to ask, with a Con focus, and the way it works with Ebon Rift, wouldn't Imbue be a good addition to this build? I can understand skipping it for concept reasons, but assuming that's not an issue, is there something I'm missing that makes it not as good of a choice as it appears?

You can use Imbue to provide a on-next-hit buff to a bunch of things in this build. If I were to ditch anything for it grasping shadows and ebon void would be the first two on the list.

I'm fairly new to this game overall and so far I've been enjoying shadow the most. I was wondering how this build fairs in pvp and what you would do to make it more pvp oriented?

I haven't PvP'd with it beyond random duels and all of those have been one sided beatdowns in my favor so far. For real PvP there are a bunch of things missing most notably something with crippling challenge on it and an active offense/hold breaker. Also, until Ebon Rift gets fixed (coming soon) Imbue with the Ebon Rift Advantage is nasty.

Too bad about all the strikes against it - if there was ever a move that would be hands-down perfect for a necromancer/voodoo themed character that didn't just use recolored Shadow and Telepathy summons as "ghosts", it'd be March of the Dead. Sometimes you just want a minion with more meat on their bones... even if it's not much.

You can get around the issues with March of the Dead if you stat high intelligence. high intelligence will make the equilibrium hit more meaningless than it already can be (there are numerous ways to make equilibrium a non-issue) and the duration of March of the Dead increases with Intelligence. I think March of the Dead on my Saga toon stay summoned for about a minute or so.

Once I get all my proverbial ducks lined up so I can go LTS Gold and convert and such, I am definitely voinking this build for my Void character... it seems basically unstoppable, but without being tedious;y slow/repetetive like some "never die" builds supposedly are for other powersets.

Hi Kenpo,
I have been running this build for a bit. I tend to favor support or a support hybrid kind of character, especially in Alerts.
Do you have any advice on moving this build to a more hybrid character? I was thinking of swapping out Seraphim for Shadow Form and moving the role to Support. I would maybe drop grasping shadows or one of the others to fill a team healing role. I was also going to change the mastery to Sentinel as well.
What do you think? I went with this for now. How do you think it would do?
Powers: Level 1: Shadow Bolts -- Despondency Level 1: Ebon Void -- Rank 2, Voracious Darkness Level 6: Seraphim -- Rank 3, Rank 2 Level 8: Life Drain -- Rank 3, Rank 2 Level 11: Hex of Suffering (Rune of Lethargy) Level 14: Shadow Embrace -- Rank 2, Dark Displacement Level 17: Rebirth Level 20: Spirit Reverberation Level 23: Iniquity -- Rank 3, Rank 2 Level 26: Summon Shadows -- Rank 2, Devouring Darkness Level 29: Ebon Ruin -- Rank 2, Nyctophobia, Paranormal Paranoia Level 32: Unbreakable Level 35: Compassion Level 38: Sigils of Ebon Weakness -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Thanks

Tried this out but I didn't like Void Horror either but I tried it out with Compassion instead. I'm happy to report it stacks both off of Drain life with out the AOE trait as well as the advantage on the Summon shadows, meaning it hits 8 stacks almost instantly. That also means you can skip over ranking it up and put 4 points into something else instead.

Badroto, if you are reading this I'd recommend this for your support based darkness build but I'd take the sentinel mastery instead.
