Sho NuffSho Nuff is a bit of a take on myself. His name comes from the character Sho'Nuff of the movie 'The Last Dragon'. This is also the name given to me when I pledged into a fraternal organization in college. Sho Nuff's real name is my original name just before my mother caved to pressure and gave me a name identical to my father's with a number after it. His home town of Bulletmore is a play on my home town of Baltimore, Maryland which in my teen years led the nation in murder rate and some of us 'affectionately' call it Bulletmore, Murderland.
Arctic FlareArctic Flare's real name is a play on the Sun God Ra and Winters is self explanatory.
JusticeJustice's real name is JUStin TICE. He developed the
Modular
Advanced
Training
Regimen
Iteration
X (ten). Should be fairly self-explanatory where his inspiration came from.
Myu HazukiI wanted a ninja character with a somewhat tragic story. Enter Myu. The name is a play on Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue, another martial arts character with tragic family loss.
Will PowersWill Powers is a telepath/telekinetic whose abilities are limited by his willpower. What? That was obvious? OK *slinks off in shame*
Broken ArrowI wanted an archer with Arrow in the name. Enter Broken Arrow. His real name is a play on words when translated to English. The first name means "to break" and the last name means "to shoot with arrows".
Arsenal GearI wanted a power armor character with lots of weapons. I wanted the name Arsenal but it's taken by DC comics. So enter Arsenal Gear as he has a ton of weapons and a lot of gear. Yes I am a Metal Gear Solid fan as well. Arsenal's real name is that of a childhood friend who is no longer with us. R.I.P.
IntimidatorI love the brick set and wanted another brick character but with a gimmick of getting really huge. Enter Intimidator. His real name is, as is a recurring theme with me, a play on words. Brolic is a word for a large, muscular, tough person. Minacciare translates to "to intimidate or threaten".
Saga VeneficaThis was a spite build. I read the forums and all the time run across threads where people say such and such is broken, such and such is gimp, etc, etc. Usually I read these and see where someone just doesn't understand certain aspects of the game it drives me nuts that they convey they're misunderstanding as a problem in the game. So I make a working build of these things and make it shine. Enter Saga, who was made and level'd solo to 40
before pet powers got reviewed. Again, the name is a play on words. Saga (actually Sága) is a goddess and seer or prophet in Norse Mythology. I was going to be a prophet that pets are viable with this build, lol. I proved my point. You can look up what a Venefica is...
Storm BringerI wanted an electric character. Enter Storm Bringer, real name Luciena Striker or "light to strike".
Star BreakerIn my infinite love of the might framework I wanted a might character in the vein of Wonder Woman. Enter Star Breaker. Her real name translates rough as "star" "to break". Again, a play on words. I was playing the God of War trilogy around the time this character was created..which led to the arm sheath design inspired by the Golden Fleece kratos wears but with more a futuristic tech motif.
BlurI was reading some Flash comics and..well...I had to make a speedster then. Enter Blur or Ocius Cursor which roughly translates to "Quick Runner".
Lila FelisWhile creating Blur I thought about his research background and what could happen with the same research goal but a different way of getting there. Enter the cat styled Lila Felis or "Beautiful Cat".
Michele GabrielI wanted a healer build with an angelic theme to give me an excuse to use the celestial power set. Enter a descendant of the Angels Michael and Gabriel...Michele Gabriel.
2nd AmendmentIf you didn't know, I'm American and proud of it. Around the time that it was deemed that Washington DC's stance on firearms was unconstitutional (imagine that!) I came up with this character. 2nd Amendment, the right to bear arms. He's a bit of a take on The Punisher with a little outdoorsman thrown in via his hunting "dogs". The name is derived from Alexander Hamilton and John Henry of American history and folklore respectively.
Hou IttouI wanted a Ninja-themed assassin who was modernized. So he uses swords, ninja magic and guns. Enter Hou Ittou or "Gun Blade"
RedemptionI'm a big fan of "The Shadow" and a fan of stories of Redemption. So...enter Redemption. I tied his story into the CO universe and greatly augmented his abilities over The Shadow character that inspired him. I gave him the last name Shade for obvious reasons and Theodore in reference to his powers being a 'Gift of God' since he has no idea how or why he has his abilities.
Kyobu RyushihoI was watching the anime series 'The Guyver' as I have always been a fan. After watching one day I decided to create a Guyver-esque character with a research theme tied to some of my earlier characters. You'll see in the bio how I tied other characters in, and the real name of Dr. GUY VERgil should be a dead giveaway.
Allura SynnI wanted a demonic/vampiric character, but one that was very attractive and seductive while still being blatantly not human. Enter Allura Synn. Again, a play on words. Allura for it's similarity to alluring and Synn(Sin) for fairly obvious reasons. I tied her story to my angel.
Hot Flash and
Cold SpellI had a character that was Fire as well as Ice so I wanted characters that were pure Fire and pure Ice. Enter the daughters of Arctic Flare. Re Winters (Re, another name for a Sun God) and Skadi Winters (Skadi being a Norse Goddess of Winter).
Red SpectrumOK, I was reading DC comics' series 'Blackest Night' and well...if it isn't obvious this is a take on the Green Lantern Corps then you need help. Enter Red Spectrum, my "lantern", complete with his own CO story, his own powers, his own oath and a name that is a play on words...again. Adam Lucas...or Red Light.
Lock OnI wanted a cybernetic munitions character, and then I thought it'd be cool if Broken Arrow had a partner that was the opposite of his silent and stealthy approach. Enter Lock On. While Broken Arrow is swinging in silently and lining up some killer arrow shots, Lock On is superjumping in as loud as possible with guns blazing! His real last name should be fairly obvious while his first name means noble and strong as his backstory indicates.
Alec KazamOK, I wanted a magic based character that wasn't summoning every demon and being that ever lived and died like Saga does. We all know the magic words. Abracadabra, Hocus Pocus, Alakazam...wait. Alec Kazam. Haha, another play on words. The last name is a tribute to a former employer of mine who is from Egypt, Dr. Eldefrawi.
J. T.Yep, I wanted a gadgeteer character that was actually a gadgeteer instead of a a bunch of other stuff with some gadgeteer powers cherry picked for effect. Enter J.T. I know, you read the bio and see her real name and think you have the hero name all figured out. Well, no. It's not her initials. As is often pointed out to me by my fiancee and by other players, I make curvy female characters. Sue me. Read her bio and figure out what J. T. is for if you didn't already get it...
BlitzOK. All of my might characters thus far have been using defensive passives. I don't use multiple passives on my characters. Each character gets one passive and sticks to Guardian role. That's how I play, I like balance...not the trade offs of the other builds that lean one way or another. At some point I'll have a character for every passive in the game...at some point. Anyway, Enter Blitz...a character VERY loosely inspired by The Juggernaut and running the unstoppable passive. His name is again a play on words meaning "Utter Complete lightning war". If you look up a blitzkrieg you'll know it's a tactic based on speed using tanks. Blitz hits like a tank and has superspeed.
MidnightOK, Darkness got a power review and I wanted a Darkness character for a while. Sooooo, enter Midnight or Sable Dark. Dark being self explanatory and Sable meaning "Black"
RumbleAs much as I end up tanking with Sho Nuff, he's not actually designed to tank. He just puts out loads of damage which pulls Aggro. I wanted a character built with tanking in mind, I wanted a rock theme, and I wanted to have an excuse to use tunneling. Enter Rumble. I know you'll be surprised but...the real name is a play on words. Grant meaning "great or tall" and duro meaning "hard or durable".
