No, I somehow managed to watch the two official movies and that sucked out all the mortal kombatyness out of me. You could say they were a mortal blow to my mortal kombat enthusiasm. Since then I haven't bothere with anything relating to the franchise. I think I watched half an episode of the TV series.

Been watching since the pilot (which looked good but was too "real" for mortal kombat) and waiting the new episodes that were put on hold until Comic con. So far I like Cage, Jax/Sonya/Kano's story better than the rest. Kitana/Mileena was done better than Scorpion/Sub Zero but the one I like the least is Raiden's story.

Seven of Nine as Sonya Blade?
Why have I never heard of this before?

Seven of Nine as Sonya Blade? Why have I never heard of this before? Don't forget Spawn/Iron Mike as Jax

I liked all of them (Raiden is my least favorite as well). It's a shame that Warner would give this guy funding to do the web series but not an actual movie or televised series because he has some fresh takes on it that are genuinely interesting instead of the cheese we've had in the past. At lease he got to do it partially though and hopefully he gets a green light for the second "season" he's seeking or better yet the interest from this first season convinces them to do it bigger and better.
The choreography in the Sektor/Cyrax episode was top notch.
LOL at "You got Caged".

These shorts work better like that, if he had been forced to follow a specific time with commercials breaks it would hurt it. As it is, it only works as prologue, I really don't see the "tournament" working. If he makes it a war between Earth and Out world then that works for a straight to DVD movie $$$

Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to watch these and went from start to Raiden just now.
I find myself in total agreement with the above, it's awesome stuff, but the early episodes on Jax/Sonya/Stryker/Kano then Johnny Cage were the best so far. They certainly paid homage to the games (Johnny Cage's nutcracker punch), yet they were also totally great in their own right to even a non-MK fan.
KPJ, what do you think of the fight choreography overall? You mentioned Sektor/Cyrax, which I'll get to soon, but what of the others?

The others were OK but they were relatively light on the fighting as I recall (except for maybe Jax vs Kano and the Kitana vs Mileena bits). The series becomes more fight oriented as it goes on.

I based my electric build on Raijen (Japanese god of thunder), which reminded me of Raiden.

I'm so tempted to go Gold and make a Martial Arts + Power Armour char myself, so impressed was I from the Cyrax/Sektor episode. The word Ninja in the old school characters really means "enduring one" and the idea of someone enduring the bionic/cyborg/dehumanisation thing is such a great thematic fit IMHO. So I was asking about KPJ's take on fighting and I respect how, y'know, this is Mortal Kombat not IRL. But I noticed some details through out that really made me fall in love with more than Jeri Ryan, which showed how much heart went into the series: - Jax had some takedown moves like in IRL police (but fancier) - Johnny Cage showed off more karate exhibition moves - That robot arm lock escape was smart, creative engineering I noticed how every time a character got into trouble, it's usually because of this thing which I put together an image for: Even works on cyborg ninjas, is all I'm saying.

Okay, I'm not even a huge fan of the game, and I'm liking the series. ^_^
