I'm a father of two boys, and we all three play Champions together. I'm looking for a way to either gift-buy, or transfer Atari coins for the boy's accounts. (they're minors, and history has taught me that they shouldn't have access to my paypal or debit accounts...)
So... Is there a way to do this without attaching my bank info to their Atari accounts?

There is indeed. First, go here: www.atari.com/ataritokencardsBasically how it works is that when you buy the virtual card, they send you a code. Once you get the code, log in to your sons accounts and go to this page here: www.champions-online.com/enter_key, and enter the code. The tokens should then appear on their accounts. Just follow the directions in the first link and you should be fine.

I should probably leave an update since this got bumped up again. That old link still works for Atari, but won't work for CO anymore since PWE now owns them. Instead, go here: www.champions-online.com/crypticpointscardsIt's the exact same thing, but these will work with CO or STO.

Do the "gifted" tokens work the same as regular ones - like, say someone feels really generous and gifts me 2000 tokens... when I buy a couple character slots or costume packs or whatever from the C-Store, will I still have access to the forums and whatnot as if I'd bought the coins myself?

I'm not sure about that to be honest. Since it puts points on your account, it's possible. I suppose it depends on whether they count actual purchases made from a card linked to your account, or if they just check to see if you have a point balance. I already have access to the forums, so I can't really test it myself.
